Prospect Info: 2024-25 Ducks Prospects

Was there any indication that Demidov did not want to be a Duck? Or am i confusing that with Michkov?
Neither. Reports were that Michkov didn't want to play for Arizona or Washington, and that he liked the Ducks and the Ducks almost took him.

Madden himself said they almost took Demidov at #3 last year. He said they were going forward and the 2 forwards they had identified were Beckett and Demidov.

I didn't see that Madden comment...any link to it?

I've been watching Demidov in his playoff series and he is shifty and very dangerous with the puck. His skating though is kinda average and he really hasn't been a factor except on the PP. Ultimately, I think Madden made the right call with Sennecke...the size and upside is just too unique. I haven't run the numbers (we have another poster who does that) but my impression is that Sennecke had a pretty average (for him) final month or so of the season and that probably affected how I perceived his season as a whole. He seems back on track now and I'd love to see Oshawa in the MC this year...would be a big showcase for him.

Pretty sure he said it in his standard dra ft summary.

I’m at dinner so this was the best I could do:

We were going with a forward, someone who could play in the top two lines and score goals, who can drive the play.

Ivan is one, Beckett is another, and there was another one in the mix that I won't name."

I wonder why he won't name the 3rd player.
Obvious first guess is Lindstrom but the next forwards drafted is Inginla and Catton. Catton simply might have been too small for Verbeek for a #3 pick with Sennecke and Demidov on board.

With a lot more work to do, he is looking bulkier to me already, compared to draft for example

According to Verbeek, Sennecke grew an inch since being drafted, but remained the same weight. Maybe the lighting in the room gave him "300" movie-like body sculpturing.

We all considered Getzlaf a “heavy” player, but a picture with his shirt off shows he had a pretty scrawny upper body by picture. It’s all in the flexibility and then core/legs. There aren’t very many “buff” hockey players, they’re mainly super lean.

Strength on the ice is really about leg strength to make you stronger on your skates.
