I struggle to see this as him turning down the Lightning specifically, instead of just turning down an uncertain future instead of a guaranteed KHL salary.

I also haven't watched a single second of him actually playing, just like everyone else here, so I'm not going to bother being too upset over it.

It appears more and more players and agents are realizing the current "bright spot" in the NHL for the Sunshine State is no longer the "Florida Suncoast" but rather the "Gold Coast".

Like it or not, the Panthers are where the Lightning were just a few years ago at the top of the League and looking down at everyone else.

While true, one is the defending Stanley Cup Champion, and the other is coming off its third straight one and done postseason.

We all know that story line, a bunch of fat cats who already won their championships and are ok with sailing into the sunset.........but not paying any state income tax
