I am going to update this since he had a bit of a week last week.

Here's his stats for last year, this year so far, and his projection (just current pace extended for the rest of the season). Columns are Games Played, Goas, Assists, Total Points, Penalty Minutes, +/-

He's on pace for a 96% increase in goals, 39% percent increase in assists, for an overall 60% increase in total points. He's also on pace to reduce his penalty minutes by 27%. And he got invited to the team Canada camp.

What more could you want from the kid?

Has he cured cancer or saved the whales yet? No? What a bum.

During the summer, Brad Allen from Hockey Prospectus (Blackbook) cited that forward picks in the top-5 usually have higher goal scoring rates than what Sennecke did for his D+0 season. 1st overall Celebrini scored 32 goals in 38 games in the NCAA, a 0.84 goals/game rate. 4th overall Lindstrom scored 27 goals in 32 games in the WHL, a 0.84 goals/game rate. 5th overall Demidov scored 23 goals in 30 games in the MHL (Russia), a 0.77 goals/game rate. 3rd overall Sennecke scored 27 goals in 63 games, a 0.43 goals/game rate.

Like everyone else who noticed Sennecke's second half rise, Allen noted his goal scoring did increase to where Sennecke's goal scoring would be projectable to a top-5 pick. And, as you pointed out, his scoring rate has reached the scoring levels as last year's top-5 forward draft picks.

I did the splits to see the evolution of Sennecke's goal scoring prowess last summer when Allen brought up Sennecke's low goal scoring rate for a top-5 pick.

As for "what more could you want from the kid?", I want more consistency in his high level play on both sides of the ice. That is something Scouching revealed in one game review of Sennecke. A caveat to that could be Sennecke is still figuring out his frame as he continues to add more mass as well as could still be growing. Sennecke will need to add considerable bulk if he's expected to last a whole season in the NHL.

I said at the beginning of the year that he needed to be in the 90-100 point range to justify his draft status. And he’s exceeding it. Great to see

Update from the U20 Div 1 tournament, a win and a loss for Norway so far.

I watched the games, and Solberg has been playing really well, with a ton of ice time. In the game yesterday he received the best player award.

He's been playing a physical game as usual including a couple of monster hits. But the refs are all over him every time there's some pushing and shoving, no penalties though. Looks like he already has a reputation when it comes to his game.
