So what’s the deal with Lucas Pettersson?
Played with Oestersunds (2nd division) a few days ago and got a goal and 18:00 TOI. Was 13th forward for Modo (1st division) last night and only played 1:31 TOI.

He's pretty much bouncing between Oestersunds and Modo at the moment, given he only played 5 SHL games last season and rest was juniors, this is his first professioanl season so getting some production in the 2nd tier is decent.

The 2nd tier Alllsvenskan seems like a good fit on the surface, if Modo have the depth to leave him for the year. His comparable Wild Bill spent his entire D+1 at that level. If the ice time stats are correct, Pettersson is barely playing some nights even when he does dress for Modo, but he sees top six ice time in the second tier.

One quick clip of him at the u20 level and you can sort of understand why they don't send him back to juniors

Agreed, it's not a bad level for an 18 year old just drafted to be playing at, especially as he's getting 16+ minutes a game there compared to around 10 minutes a game at with Modo.

Hope he just sticks with Oestersunds for the rest of the year and getting used in an top 6 role where he can continue to develop offensively, rather then being a 4th line checking forward / 13th forward at SHL level. It seems his defensive abilities aren't really in question right now (based on reports and the fact Modo uses him in that defensive role).

Crazy how much space he gets on that clip too, like a man among boys really

Farjestad won 2-1 today, Clara stopped 30/31 and Solberg played 16:44 finishing even with no points.

2nd in the league. I like the coaching and how they work with players there.

Clara was a healthy scratch for a couple of weeks after a few bad games. Tough, but I know he's been working a lot with the goalie coach, and now he's winning games.

Solberg gets more and more trust again after playing a bit undisciplined for a while, now he looks like a good top 4 defenseman, physical but smart.

I have been following the wjc for awhile, sometimes there are politics involved. USA used to be real bad with it when it came to guys opting to play in Canada, or they would have favorites from the US program and they would just be pushed into absurd roles. They've gotten better since I first started following it, Canada does it to they will just flat out leave off a top player because of a coaches favorite, I look at their roster this year and it's crazy Sennecke didn't get picked it's one of the most least impressive I've seen from them

The knights had won 19 games in a row before tonight??? Wow.
Before this guy decided that's enough.

What's more impressive Beckett is doing this against best teams. Kingston he just torched was the best team in East(it seems they since have lost that position). London best team in the league.

He's on an absolute heater
