It is not whether Moore is a viable prospect, it is about Yandle even making the Alaska statement.

Such a bizarre thing for Yandle to say.

It would seem odd that a 4 year NCAA player would make a statement like that, especially since he has no clear path to the NHL.

We have to hear it from someone else first before we can lend it any real credibility. With all that’s been coming out of that podcast the past few days, it just feels like Yandle has a weird axe to grind against the Ducks organization

It’s much worse than people think. The situation in the Ducks locker room is a f***ing disaster. Cronin has to go.

If a mod wants to vet me, shoot me a DM. I’ve had enough.
Spill the beans! We can all tell there are issues and need more people speaking up

Genuinely curious why people think Yandle would completely make this up. Yes he is in media and benefits from it, but by that logic he could make shit up about anyone he doesn't like in the league. Cronin on the other hand greatly benefits from lying about this.

It is likely somewhere in the middle. Yandle got yelled at by someone (likely Cronin) but probably wasn't as bad as his memory serves. If it did happen it also is possible Cronin doesn't remember because this wasn't an abnormal event for him. Human memories are not very reliable, especially after 20 years. There is truth on both sides forsure.

Frankly, I dont really care if he did or not. We are talking about something that happened 20+ years ago. I don't think this should automatically make the Ducks fire him assuming this isn't an ongoing issue. But, it goes with the other rumors about how the room feels about Cronin/how Cronin treats the room.

I do find it a little funny people screaming he should be fired specifically because of this Yandle issue are the same people who wanted to hire Jim Montgomery despite him being fired because of drunken antics.

Update.

Apparently Yandle's mom says it was in person not over the phone. This just goes to my last point that relying on 20 year old memories is a mistake.

But apparently they got other players that played for him reach out to them too.

Anyways. to be continued.

Lol, here for Spitting Chiclets helping us improve our coaching situation  of it turns out Cronin is lying/hiding something, it could add a LOT to the already fan frustration to him the ends up making moves. I am jumping way ahead of myself rn tho

This is getting really weird. I don't think we have ever had an extended public distraction regarding staff...ever? Bob was fired before anything even came out.

Bob threw a chair at a woman, lol.

He'd get grilled in current day with pidcasts like SC having a spotlight. And rightfully so I guess

One thing that concerns me about this whole Cronin/Yandle thing is if rumours are going around the league, whether true or untrue, will that affect the teams ability to recruit players?

Who wants to come play for a questionable coach like that? Another reason Cronin needs to go.

I want Cronin gone, but not this way.

The irony is Cronin can’t coach. That is the dividing line.

If he had turned the Ducks around and had an NHL resume with Stanley Cups, none of this would matter.

Even Babcock got a chance with Columbus after his past. But true to form, he screwed that up.

Even if true, I don't feel like this story should be what causes Cronin to be let go.

If Cronin yelling at someone 20 years ago causes him to be fired instead of his lack of on ice results than id say we have big problems with this organization.

On the Cam Fowler Trade thread “supposedly” Yandle said our pick Ian Moore would rather play in Alaska than for the Ducks.

So there is some real hate there. Whether it’s the Ducks or Cronin or both, I don’t know.

But something happened somewhere over the years.

John
I was just trolling. He didn’t say that. lol sorry, didn’t think it would be taken srsly

I think now that he's denied it, it gets a little more complex. He shouldn't get fired for yelling at someone 20 years ago, no... but he was seemingly brought in more for off-ice development and culture than on-ice results and that is presumably what Verbeek has been pleased with so far (I mean, think we all hope it's not the on-ice results he's satisfied with).

If it were to come out somehow that Cronin is actually lying, rather than this just being a case of faulty memories, now there's a really public example of the accountability coach not following his own example. I could see that getting him fired more so than the original incident.

I think people should be held responsible for reprehensible conduct, so it doesn’t bother me when guys like the Chicago management team or even BM are dismissed for misbehavior that isn’t related to their job. You can (and should) choose not to associate with that if you want.

But this — a 20-year old incident involving yelling at some prospect who doesn’t want to play for you — isn’t close to that level and I think everyone involved knows that. So this just feels like a hit job to me, platformed by guys who don’t like our team in order to air these stale grievances for no reason other than the spectacle of it. And you can tell that’s the case because it doesn’t matter to the hosts whether the accusations are true, the story is that there are accusations. The smear is the point.

So f*** these guys.
