By all means, if you don't get enough spam to your inbox daily, go ahead and sign one of these meaningless petitions. And for the record, I'd like Cronin gone yesterday.
I would like Cronin and Verbeek gone yesterday. They are both badly failed hires. The sooner the Ducks get rid of them, the better. This team is impossible to watch.

I’ve been in this boat since last year. I had a feeling that a first time coach with no experience would lead to this

That’s probably true but I think Randy would still do better with this squad. He was a smart coach, and I think he’d find some ways to have a bit more success with this team even if there would still be better options out there. I mean the 2016-2017 team was quite a bit different than the cup team and he found ways to make it work. I think his inflexibility as a coach is overblown. Obviously this isn’t his preferred roster makeup tho.

I think it’s just important to appreciate nuance, yes somebody like Randy would probably not be ideal, but he’d likely still have more success than Cronin.
Randy Carlyle was an above avg nhl coach I have no doubt about that. His problem was that he was to tough on everyone

It was just speculation that Cronin could be on the hot seat (just his opinion, not based on anything he's heard). He said that the Ducks have too much talent to be as lifeless as they have been lately. He suggests that maybe Cronin's demeanor just doesn't mesh well with the players that we have.
Thank you!

At the risk of repeating myself, that's exactly the issue I've been harping on...that Cronin was hired because he will do exactly what PV tells him to do. PV wants to have a hand in everybody's job instead of hiring the best people and letting them do what they were hired to do.
After the Vegas game, where Leo played some PK…. I vividly remember Cronin saying in one of his interviews directly after the game. Verbeek said to use Leo on the PK, which to me screams GMPV has a lot of say in the way we utilize the roster. Now to play devils advocate, if it was merely, hey Cronin let’s not put to much on Leo’s plate no PK time this season “blah blah blah”, you know I can buy that. But it definitely sounded like a Cronin didn’t have final say in roster decisions.

The coach and GM speak almost daily about many things and I wouldn't read too much into it. On the other hand, Verbeek specifically stated multiple times this summer that he had a more hands-off role last year and wanted to be more involved this year with the coaches. Whether this is an example of that or just Cronin mentioning a conversation where they arrived at an idea to get, I don't think that's really the issue with this team.

I think Cronin would have been excellent as an assistant coach in charge of the defense and PK. He would have helped with development and accountability. It's seems like he's struggling with the head role at this level and can't adapt enough for the team he has been given. It's always possible this changes, but adaptability is usually not the hallmark of an older coach.

Thought this was interesting from Stephens' article:

Too often, it looks as if the Ducks aren’t on the same page on their shifts. Players don’t always anticipate or read where the play is going. Passes have connected better of late, but clean zone entries and proper teammate support aren’t to the point that they’re driving play shift after shift. And while Terry leads Anaheim with five goals and 10 points, he and others have been guilty of turning pucks over when handling the puck too long.

“When I watch (Sidney) Crosby, they know where each other (is),” Terry said. “If one guy gets closed off, he knows where his outs are. It’s that connected (feeling). I don’t know, we’re kind of not connected sometimes. When I have the puck and I know I’m in trouble, I don’t necessarily know where the other two (forwards) are. It’s just that kind of thing that we’ve done at times this year. That’s when we’ve played well. The offensive zone in general, we’re definitely not generating enough.”

“The teams that I’ve played on that were connected as five were very predictable,” Killorn said. “Predictable in the breakout where we knew where the puck was going to go once the (defenseman) touched it. Predictable in the O-zone when we knew when the first guy touched it and where it was going to go. And predictable in the neutral zone that we knew if there was time, there was a play to be made. But a lot of times, there’s no time in the neutral zone, so you just got to go behind their (defense). That predictability isn’t quite there.”

I have Toronto on the line. They would like a word with you.

John
Toronto disaster isn’t a good example. In fact, he lead them to a 3-1 lead on the bruins before they collapsed ( which they always do) they were a very young team Toronto, he had them playing well

I have to be honest, I have lost pretty much all optimism until Cronin is gone. Everything we have read about team chemistry and moral is that it is f***ed.

I dont even care if Cronin is to blame. SOMETHING has to change, and a coaching change is by far the easiest way to get that change. Not to mention Cronin hasnt shown he can be an effective NHL coach anyways.

It’s year 2, the players, especially the veterans, should know where their outlets are unless Cronin changed the system on them this year. I think those statements by Killorn and Terry speak volumes to what is wrong and it matches the eye test.
I agree with you and Gliff. I do find myself wondering if PV's ego or stubbornness will prevent him from admitting Cronin was a mistake hire. The eye test, apparent regression of young players, and more statements alluding to Cronin's ineptness tell me Cronin has to go immediately.

The players just confirmed.. They have no faith in the system.. The veterans are saying this.. Yah Cronin needs to go and if PV refuses to change things up.. His tenure as an NHL GM will be short lived

Two vets basically saying no one knows where their teammates are and that things seem a little unorganized combined with Bush's earlier statement tell me Cronin has been nothing short of a disaster.

Amen to that. Sooner he’s out, the better.

I don’t know if a trade move is even ideal - could make the already dour morale even worse. Adding also that Cronin being a total hardass makes me feel almost bad for these guys.

They both need to go. Big deal, he swung on Cutter and made a good trade. Everything else - drafting, Free Agent signings, team structure is all in the toilet.

I remember when Verbeek was first hired he specifically mentioned how we were halfway through the rebuild. still waiting on some sort of progress..

Kariya, Selanne and Neids should have zero input as to who the next GM should/would/could be.

If you hire a guy to rebuild you probably need to give him a rebuild’s worth of time to see what’s up. PV’s not going anywhere this year and almost certainly not next year either.

Plus, the season could still turn around, somehow. Cronin could change it up or the players could click. But even if not, it’s no immediate danger to PV to have to fire Cronin. Firing Cronin is actually the Break Glass In Case Of Emergency option for him. It would damage his reputation if his rebuild coach flopped but I don’t think it’d cost him his job.
