Lol I mean Buffalo has Tage, Power, Peterka, etc in and we have....nobody. I dont know why either team decided to make the rosters for this game this lopsided but this is about right for the result

The Sabres are like the Sens in that it's puzzling how they have so much talent, and in most times young talent, but they still just kinda remain shitslop teams. At some point those franchises have to take the next step, right?

I think they made the correct decision to not trade Jarry yet this off-season. Give Blomqvist another year in the AHL and hope Jarry has a strong year and becomes tradeable.

I mean there is literally nobody on the Penguins D that should be playing in the NHL on D and maybe 3-4 players that should be playing in the NHL up front.

Poor Blomqvist, he has a lot of good technical skills but he should be coached to be a little more aggressive in his crease, but nothing will save him from the impeccable Sullivan Defensive system.

He looks really raw. Scrambling a ton, showing poor rebound control and getting way too deep in his net. The athleticism is insane, but he's extremely rough around the edges.

He has also not looked particularly great in training camp from the people who have gone to camp and posted here.

Jarrys contract made that decision for them

The Penguins defensive structure isn’t made to be friendly towards any goalie. Jarry looked great and then wasn’t, Ned suffered the same fate. I think blokes here think either should do better but really, it’ll never happen with the way the team plays in their own end, regardless of this being a preseason game and seeing a D team out there, the way they’re playing defensively is basically the typical Sully system.

There are things that athleticism can get you away with in the AHL that won't work in the NHL.

Shit talk my skater evaluation all you want, but I know goalies. Blomqvist has big-time upside with his terrific athleticism, but he absolutely needs more polishing. He's not ready.
