One of the choppiest and ugliest skaters in the league.
He would get cooked in our system where all 3 forwards are out of the zone on a breakout.
Our D have to be able to skate the puck out.

The only issue I see with Romanov is he's due a new contract.

Yeah his contract isn't the worst or best and I'll always wish it was in the 6s
Not sure we'd have to trade anyone honestly. I'd have to look at the cap situation a little more and I guess it would also depend on how much Romanov would want though.
But he's an RFA so we could also just flip him again next summer if he ends up wanting too much. A real solid playoff run and he could return us another 1st tbh.

Romanov is a top 4 LD and will want to get paid accordingly.
It might come as a surprise to some but the Avs aren't in a position to pay 2nd pair money to a guy that will play on their 3rd pair.
