It's probably the retention and the term remaining that he doesn't like... also the small body of work as far as Gibson's season so far.
I believe Gibson only has 2 more years left on his contract, making 6.4 mill. If Ducks retain 3 mill, we’ll pay Gibson pretty much what we’re paying Georgiev right now. We have to find a goalie next offseason anyway when Georgiev’s contract is up, unless a tragedy happens and CMac resigns him. Get Gibson with that retantion and we’ll have the starter position locked up for couple of more years

If it wasn't for us and Carolina, there wouldn't be a market for Gibson. At his age, he is nobody's goalie of the future, he's only the goalie of those that hope he doesn't suck worse than their current goalie. How much does this actually cost in a trade?

Consider this... Dostal is rocking a 5v5 sv% of .931 and a GAA of 2.35. Yes, Gibson has a better HDSV% but Dostal has him beat on MD and LDSV%. This is not the time to hand the starting duty back to Gibson. This is Dostal's team moving forward. How many teams want a 6.4M backup? Even with retention, a team taking Gibson probably helps the Ducks out a lot more than folks are giving them credit for.

LeBrun gave a Sid update on Overdrive earlier today. Said he's given no indication to anyone around him that he wants out and that's what it would take. Pretty much what any of us figured.

We'll that's not surprising. He's the captain of the team and certainly not going to give up before December rolls around.

But even if he did - I don't think he'd give an 'indication' one way or another so that he'd get peppered by the media about it every single day.

IF he wanted to be moved, my expectation is that it would come out of left field and we'd find out about it after the trade happened.

Did he give an update on the Avs goaltending since his last update on this topic a week ago saying, “Sike, the Avs actually DO hate their goaltending and are looking to improve”?

If the Avs could somehow convince Lumbus to retain about a million I think It'd jump at that. Obvious downside is if Merzlikins couldn't rebuild his game after being mentally broken for so long, but IMO this is the level of desperation the Avs are at now.
Rebuild his game? It was never built. Elvis has never been good in the NHL for any reliable stretch of games
