I’m sure if the Avs were willing to move Ritchie for Gibson it would have already happened. I even doubt they want to move Gulyayev or Behrens for him.

Not to mention that Nuke is one more piss test away from a year-long suspension and most likely a contract termination
And Long term Cap Savings!

I mean Behrens won't get much right now...

The only prospect with value is Ritchie and his value is probably nowhere near as high as we want to believe. Whenever I watch lists of top prospects that aren't in the NHL Ritchie's name is never there.

The issue with a potential goalie trade is not the asset cost TBH. The issue is the cap, and options out there. Goalies just don't move the needle when it comes to trades in this day and age. Obviously if the Avs are extremely desperate teams can take a bit of an advantage.

I suspect when the Avs were in on Askarov, Ritchie woud have been the big piece in return. So, I have my doubts the team would consider using Ritchie for Gibson. Gulyayev, on the other hand, that would be a possibility.

That's the most recent list (less than a month ago) and you need a list that's at least 40 player deep to find his name.

There are roughly 39 better prospects not in the NHL. That's a f***ing lot.
Love the moving goal posts, from he's not on any lists to wow, he's so low on lists. If he moves up after a good WJC I could see the opinion being "wow, they sure do have that WJC bias"

Not overpay. Sakic and MacFarland didn't blink on many trades, don't see why they should now.
Kuemper was an overpay. But paid off. I think an overpay can be justified for the right pieces.

The bigger issue is that Cmac and Sakic sit on things WAYYYY to long and then have to be reactive at non opportunistic times.

Why are we so low on Ritchie when he's literally been better than the 3rd overall pick from last year's draft? Because he's 1 year older?
Well in junior that's a damn good reason isn't it? That's why Sennecke is #14 and Ritchie is #40 on that last list.

Just very confused as to why we are suddenly looking to trade our top prospect for a big question mark in net because we have to? Now our top prospect is in fact shit and he's not worth anything anyways? It's just very confusing.
I never said he was shit, I said he probably wasn't worth as much as we'd hope for. If anything your lists pointed in that direction too.

Is Sennecke having a better season right now than the one Ritchie had? I don't think so.

Season is super young and Sennecke was a big reach/gamble from the Ducks at #3.

He reacted like this for a reason:

Lebrun throwing out the Backstrom reference isn’t amazing.

With the Gibson article yesterday having a couple of Avs nuggets and now “randomly” bringing up Landeskog, something tells me he’s had his yearly fall chat with Sakic.

Edit: Oh look who's #6.
I can make a list that would have Ritchie in the top 10. End of the day these lists don't mean much, especially when this is their blurb on Ritchie:

"Ritchie is a coach's dream. He's versatile in that he plays every forward position and plays a well-rounded, two-way game, and plays hard no matter how high or low in the lineup you put him."
