Yamamoto has made good plays. That does not mean he is a good player.

I'd pass. We've already got too much of the same.

4 wins against crap teams and now our entire bottom 6 is better than Yamamoto?

Keep in mind that if Colton is missing games one extra AHLer is getting in.
Small skater who isn't speedy and has shown throughout his short career the only time he could produce was when stapled to Leon Draisaitl and Ryan-Nugent Hopkins' line for like 3 months.

Not a two way forward, not a penalty killer, not a shot blocker, not an energy guy.

Easy pass.

If we weren't a penny-pinching franchise, if Colton was out for even one game, I'd say why the f*** not. Grab him for a game or two. Then waive him. Use him like a cheap you know what.

Doesn't claiming and playing a waived player actually save money for the org?

Capwise? No idea, not even talking about that. But we are talking about the team that has held on to Nikita Zadorov's old pants to this day. All the troubles with the lack of a proper practice facility and fights with the local cable provider and what else...

Do we know for sure Colton is out?
Not necessarily

It costs money to make a waiver claim along with the actual salary.
Doesn't the original team pay for half their salary? And the waiver claim is usually less than a day/games played IIRC.

So assuming they'd be calling up a different player, it would be cheaper.

I believe you're thinking of the old re-entry rule which had a provision for half salary, but we don't have re-entry anymore.

Just a hypothetical trade that probably doesn’t make sense, but would anyone trade Ritchie + 1st for Simon Nemec?

Just curious what the sentiment is.
