Gonna get my hopes up yet again that we can get Seth Jones only for him to get traded to Dallas. They have a lot more ammunition to use then us. Rinse and repeat the pain cycle.

They have more of a need an tons of potential LTIR space for this year. So I wouldn't be surprised to see us outbid by Dallas.Gonna get my hopes up yet again that we can get Seth Jones only for him to get traded to Dallas. They have a lot more ammunition to use then us. I'm almost 100% sure Heisk won't be back during the regular season. That's their cap space there. They don't have the cap room going forward we do though (although temporary but the cap is rising fast), and his father lives in Denver.
I don't like Saravalli but he did make the point Dallas would have a hard time fitting him in after this year. Can't confirm because the Caps are dick holsters.
f*** off Dallas

I'd take Jones at full cap hit if they just took Wood back. The retention numbers he threw out are also interesting. If this is what Colorado and Dallas want retained I can see the hard line Chicago is taking, of ok we'll revisit this in the offseason. 2.5@7M would work for us. He's easily worth good assets for that.
I bet Provorov is asking for 6.5 to 7M.
Just get that shit done yesterday Cmac.
That contract has five years left after this one. So there’s no question in my mind if the Blackhawks are able to move Jones, it will require either retaining salary or taking back a bad contract. At $6 million or $6.5 million a year, I can see teams perking up. Retaining salary for that many years may seem somewhat onerous if you’re Chicago, but it would improve the actual return on the deal.
You know you're used to Vegas cap shenanigans that you're not even looking at their cap space if they could bring Rantanen you just know they canMikko gonna end up in Vegas, Dallas, or Edmonton
Barbashev/Eichel/Rantanen would be nightmare fuel

Dallas has 70M committed to next year. So they have tons of flexibility on where they want to go. They have several UFAs and RFAs also. Johnston and Bourque are the only only notable RFAs.
As UFAs, they have Benn, Granlund, Duchene and Dadonov as notables. They can easily walk away from most of these guys.
So you don't blame them but then you do......OK then....I believe it was Byram. It's well documented that Avs management knew they were eventually going to lose him as he wanted a shot to try to be a #1D somewhere.
I don't blame management for taking a swing on Byram/Mitts. Mitts had the potential to be a top six center. But they swung and missed big time and the blame falls on them for that. You don't trade a kid like Byram and wiff on the trade without taking a rash of shit.
They would have been better served trying to package Byram and getting a center with more proven experience.
So you don't blame them but then you do......OK then....
We'll be KO'd by the time we have to face Dallas, don't worryDallas will get Mikko and Seth. And Duchene will do another stupid goal celebration in our faces. That will hurt.
I don't see see where my reading comprehension failed. Bud, you literally said you don't blame them and then you say the blame falls on them.Reading comprehension isn't for everyone, bud.
Not necessarily. Nill has said that re-signing Benn is a priority. He and Duchene will cost upwards of $12-$13M combined. Johnston is going to go from $895k to $7-$8M. Bourque and Lundqvist will cost upwards of $2M each, and their buyout of Suter jumps to $1.433M next year. All that right there gets them very close to the cap.So Savioli is stupid as usual. That's what I get lol.
Unfortunate reality of being an Avs fan.Gonna get my hopes up yet again that we can get Seth Jones only for him to get traded to Dallas. They have a lot more ammunition to use then us. Rinse and repeat the pain cycle.
What's a one stop shop look like?Watched Chicago/Utah last night. Wow, is Chicago a full on dumpter fire. Shot attempts were 93-39. Kind of hard to evaluate Jones with that, but he did have a few shot blocks and scored the lone goal. But at the same time, looked pretty checked out of the game. I do think getting him out of that situation will help, but at the same time, he is part of that problem.
Crouse had a great game. He took a hard shot off the ankle midway through the game and was shown limping into the dressing room. But he still managed to score a nice backhanded goal driving the net. The dude is a warrior and a leader. I think a lot of his lack of production this year is being pushed down the lineup. That will still be the case in Colorado, but I think he would really help solidify our 3rd line.
I've mentioned Marino a few times before. He isn't a great skater, but he gets around well enough. He's really solid all around the ice and does well getting the puck out of the zone. I don't think he would be available, but if so, he would be an ideal target.
Hayton was fun to watch. Good motor and a good 1st step. He plays the goal front position on the power play and didn't seem to mind taking abuse there. It shows as he has 62 shots from the high danger zone this year (compared to Mitts 76 from all areas). He shot wasn't all that impressive, but half of scoring is getting yourself in a position to score. He's only 24 and I think there is more to his game to unlock. Like Marino, I doubt he is available, but if so, I'd be pushing hard to get him
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, who the f*** wants to live in Texas?![]()
NHL rumblings: Utah’s trade deadline plans, plus the latest on Ivan Provorov, Seth Jones and more
Also, what the Kings are looking for at the deadline and what we're hearing on Yanni Gourde and Jake Evans.www.nytimes.com
This, plus the comments in there from Utah's GM... It's not a ringing endorsement for many moves being made this year.
And if you needed an idea where Jones wants to go...
Yeah, the trance songs I listen to are normally for driving.Nice song mate. I could drive on the highway and listen to his stuff forever.
Can you translate that into boomer please. What are your lots thoughts concerning BigBaller Q available for that 2nd line centre role? I understand he probably doesn't make it as a centre, but his strengths are definitely more pro-Avs style than Mittelstadt. Definitely more worth the risk than Zegras or somebody else.

You know that's 24 carat.
