I was going to say "here comes the lowball offers from HF"Colton + Wood. Let's gooo

A little before my time (I'm nearing 34)I suggested McFly right after the trade. Didn't get much traction.
If that's the case, f***ing send 'em Colton and Mittelstadt for Barzal. Toss in Ritchie and a retirement Rolex.
I'm well aware - I'm just a big Dobson fan and I think he's better defensively than he's getting credit for in here. And I just think he's a significantly better player than Jones, regardless of different strengths.@a mangy Meowth Dobson and Jones are very different players. As others have said, Dobson is more in the line of Makar, albeit nowhere close of course, as an offensive defenseman. Dobson has struggled defensively and can't be trusted for big assignments.
The appeal of Jones is that he's an absolutely elite PKer that would take Cale off PK1 duty and perhaps off PK altogether with Manson there. We know Bednar would still use Cale on PK because Bednar will do Bednar things, but the option of him not playing PK is more realistic with Jones.
The cost of Dobson will also be much higher than the cost of Jones, in my opinion. Then you have to deal with him as an RFA.
With Jones, you'd be getting a mature player better suited to what we are looking for, but still bringing the qualities Bednar wants in his D with the skating, transition, and passing ability on the breakouts.
TOMORROW IS SATURDAY!It’s Friday. You all know what that means!
Would Tampa take him back or would Buffalo, you mean? I think we've all desired Tuch for a while though - another beyond perfect Avs fit. Kinda assumed he wasn't available. There's a trade thread about Tampa having interest in Tuch, would they take Colton back?
Good luck convincing him to waive his NTC to go to BuffaloWould Tampa take him back or would Buffalo, you mean? I think we've all desired Tuch for a while though - another beyond perfect Avs fit. Kinda assumed he wasn't available.
TOMORROW IS SATURDAY!
Tell him we're trading Wood and he can waive to go with him.Good luck convincing him to waive his NTC to go to Buffalo
Colton seems like the kind of guy who would love to chug beers at a Bills tailgate, eating wings, and crashing into tables.Good luck convincing him to waive his NTC to go to Buffalo
I haven't watched Pulock in a while, so I'm not sure he has the skating to keep up with this team. And of course he is injured (but so is Dobson). But I think Pulock would be a much more reasonable target, and would be a better fit as far as finding a PK minute eating RHD.
Because Dobson would be a worse fit on the 2nd pair than Jones would. Dobson is a better player in a vacuum, I won't argue that. But Jones would be a wayyyy better fit stylistically for what we need.Yeah so why not get an actual 1D for the 2nd pair? Sounds even better to me. Though, I'm guessing Dobson probably wants more like 9M+ on his next deal. In this fantasy of mine, we'd somehow bridge him as an RFA and perhaps walk him to UFA so we can fit him in
Please understand I'm not suggesting that we're actually going to pull this off or even attempt to.
That's fair I guess.Because Dobson would be a worse fit on the 2nd pair than Jones would. Dobson is a better player in a vacuum, I won't argue that. But Jones would be a wayyyy better fit stylistically for what we need.
Can’t emphasize this enough. Jones fits far better for what we’re missing than what Dobson would.Because Dobson would be a worse fit on the 2nd pair than Jones would. Dobson is a better player in a vacuum, I won't argue that. But Jones would be a wayyyy better fit stylistically for what we need.
Try to trade like we did for Toews. Dobson for 2 x second round picksDobson is available apparently . Doubt we can have the trade assets but he’s better then Jones .
