That's ok, I'll let you do all the perbixing.Go after Sam Bennett in the off-season
And perbix
From what I choose to believe about the reports, is that the gap was probably less than 750k. Rantanen wanted 12-12.5, the Avs held absolute firm on 11.75 as the max. I give them credit for doing it, even if I disagree. They made a great trade under the circumstances.
Alright, get Miller, watch him and MacKinnon get too competitive against each other - to the point where it's hard to tell if they know they play on the same team. Line 1 vs. Line 2 to see who can dominate the most.
Yeah not convincing.
This tells me that they may not want to trade him to us:
A f***ing jokeFrom what I choose to believe about the reports, is that the gap was probably less than 750k. Rantanen wanted 12-12.5, the Avs held absolute firm on 11.75 as the max. I give them credit for doing it, even if I disagree. They made a great trade under the circumstances.
With Landy next season if nobody gets traded:
Drouin - MacKinnon - Necas
Lehtonen - Mittelstadt - Nichushkin
Landeskog - Drury - LOC
Wood - Kelly - Colton
(Parssinen)
Makar - Toews
Girard - Manson
Middleton - Malinski
(cheap D)
Blackwood
Wedgewood
Yeah sure. You can choose to believe Friedman, I choose to believe Kypreos. Friedman has got more things wrong in the last few years however.A f***ing joke
Just enough room to go from Mitts to Miller. With Landy next season if nobody gets traded:

Landeskog - Drury - LOC

With new deals:
Drouin 4M
Parssinen 1M
Malinski or replacement 1M
Cap hit:
Forwards 59M
Defense 27.5M
Goalies 6.75M
Total: 93.25M out of 95.5M
Send them Mitts, Colton and a 2nd then! That's what we got for them.the deal would've included Byram and Newhook to Vancouver.
Whoops. Lehtonen is a normal name here, Lehkonen less so (37k vs 0.7k)LEHTONEN?
Off with your head!
I think it's literally just one guy in denial about what went down.Kypreos' sources are always agents, btw.
Marner's agent. Tavares' agent. List goes on and on.
So, he's been speaking with Andy Scott, Mikko's agent.
Just keep that in mind.
I think the estimations are off. Parsinnen is going to cost more than 1M. And clearly we need to spend more money on the 3rd pairing. At the same time, the Avs would likely shed Colton’s 4M and replace with Ritchie and save 3+M. Shedding Wood would also save an additional 1.5M. That would give the Avs close to 5M to get a more supportive 3rd pairing.Just enough room to go from Mitts to Miller.
I mean there are always two sides to a story who do you think is feeding info for Friedman, and what makes their POV more accurate?Kypreos' sources are always agents, btw.

For real though, that f***ing Colton NMC pisses me off.
I don't want to run an under mil 3rd pairing again..Just enough room to go from Mitts to Miller.

They were reportedly shopping him around last summer before July 1st. Sucks that they failed. For some weird reason, it's only this year, too.
Year 1 last year - Nothing
Year 2 this year - Full NTC
Year 3 + Year 4 - Modified NTC (unclear how many teams)
The weird reason being that his first year he was still RFA, under 27 years old. They can't have trade protection. For some weird reason, it's only this year, too.

I mean it's not that unusual. Players usually want to have that maximum protection at first, and clubs might give it to them in exchange for AAV. There are ofcourse some teams that hand out NMCs and NTCs like candy, but the Avs are not one of those teams. MacKinnon is the only player with a full NMC throughout his contract. Not even Landeskog has a full NMC, starting next season he has a 12 team no-trade list. No, I mean it's weird that only year 2 is full NTC but years 3 and 4 move to a modified NTC.
I understand why year 1 doesn't have it.
Avs are still going to be in a crunch next season. Not as bad as we thought a few months ago, but still.Interesting timing of this cap news. You have to think they have some idea.
1. Necas' contract might not look too different than Rants at the end of the day
2. Impacts TD negotiations happening right now - long term deals just skyrocketed in value
3. That Seth Jones full deal might not look so bad
