How are they making the cap work? Bennett?
Knight($4.5m) and $3m cap space.
Chicago must be retaining at least $2m.

For a return like that I hope they are retaining at least 3MKnight($4.5m) and $3m cap space.

Well, he's still only 23 but he has not been good at all to begin his NHL career and this season through 23 games is 37th out of 62 goalies with a minimum of 10 GP in GSAA.That's a heck of a return unless Knight is broken beyond repair.
I know that he was good at first but then had personal issues and joined the PA program for what seemed to be forever. I lost track after that.Well, he's still only 23 but he has not been good at all to begin his NHL career and this season through 23 games is 37th out of 62 goalies with a minimum of 10 GP in GSAA.
IMO the Hawks are hoping he's the Fleury to Bedard akin to Crosby and grow together. Especially if they don't retain.
It hasn't been good since eitherI know that he was good at first but then had personal issues and joined the PA program for what seemed to be forever. I lost track after that.
So...similar package from us would he Nabokov + 1st. Steep but with that retention would've been a pretty good deal I'd say.
I'm so sad.
Something tells me that Lindgren was Plan B (or C). They pulled the trigger once it became clear they weren't getting Jones. Can't wait until we find out that the Avs had a better offer but he wouldn't waive.
Ya'll are crazy. I'm not touching Seth Jones for 7m for 5 more years. Glad the Avs "missed out".
This feels like Chicago had something very specific in mind: a <24 year old NHL player who can step into the lineup now and a 1st round pick. Can't wait until we find out that the Avs had a better offer but he wouldn't waive.
Makes sense for Florida, they did lose couple of key d-men from their cup run
