I watched Schultz play with Pittsburgh a bit. So it's been a few seasons. I mainly try to suggest players that might need a change of scenery..Genuine curiosity here: why do you suggest SO many players? Especially if you don't watch them play?
Holtz + is what was rumored on the last go round.I wonder what's going the other way. Usually goalies don't return as much as we'd think.

Yea like I said, starting goalies don't return that muchIf that's it, great deal for New Jersey
Which is why it is insane when people say goalies can't be had... they can, and they are not super expensive. Bahl is at very best a 4/5 if he takes a step, but really a 5/6D who is cheap. the 25 1st is a 1st in a good draft, but in the mid to late 20s, not a big price. Markstrom isn't perfect, but he's a legit starter and probably on the fringe of top 10.Yea like I said, starting goalies don't return that much
He must be relieved that he will only see Edmonton a couple times a year. Dude just had a huge mental block against that teamMarkstrom isn't perfect, but he's a legit starter and probably on the fringe of top 10.
Except when he faces them in the finals on Edmonton's 2nd of 8 cups in a row.He must be relieved that he will only see Edmonton a couple times a year. Dude just had a huge mental block against that team
Marner and Keefe reunion31% retained... or 1.86m. Roughly 15m to fill out a defensemen and a couple forwards plus extras. They are probably looking at a splash name.
I think Hamilton will take $9M, Markstrom $6M and they have to sign Mercer, so they probably don't have that much available.7D counts Dermy as a defensemen rather than a forward, but semantics. They have plenty of room. Will be interesting though if they get retention, which would be a signal they are going free agent hunting.
Define poorlyThis helps the funny storyline of Keefe doing a great job in Jersey whilst Toronto does poorly with Berube
Wouldn't hate it, but that's a big time trade.Marner and Keefe reunion
Hamilton is included in that and Markstrom is 4.125 and included in that as well. ~72m is what they should be at in total with 10F-5D-2G. On defense they don't need a top 4 guy, but need a PK guy (left shot). Up front they need to sign Mercer who's probably a bridge around 3.5m. So with 11F-5D-2G they should be under 76m. Leaving 12m for one splash free agent, a depth forward, and 2 depth defensemen (one an every night guy). The latter 3 shouldn't take more than 3.5m, but could be as low as 2.5m. This leaves ~9m for Guentzel or Reinhart, who I think they will target now.I think Hamilton will take $9M, Markstrom $6M and they have to sign Mercer, so they probably don't have that much available.
Markstrom is 34. Not sure if ageing works the same with goalies... who are the top goalies older than that in the league, other than Flower ?
