Here it is. These are always the best threads to go thru at the end of the season as far as serving up your favorite bbq’d crow and it’s not a prediction it was a spoiler claims.

I’ll start it out.

-Kopitar slows way down in terms of point production.
-Kings owners scorch the benches and front office before the trade deadline.
-Kempe scores 40 with Fiala and QB
-Clarke struggles In first half and then starts figuring it out after the fire sale.
-Gavrikov has a big bounce back season because he wants to get paid.
-Trevor Moore pots 30
-Doughty asks for a trade (goes to Toronto with us retaining)
-we finish 2nd to last in division behind the ducks
-I get blocked by the other half of the posters on the board. Nobody is able to read my post.

- Fiala leads team in scoring, followed by Kempe and Byfield.
- Clarke gets between 30-35 points and people talk about him being a bust, and how the Kings should have drafted Wallstedt, because...
- Kuemper and Rittich combine for < 40 wins
- Byfield scores more points than PLD, thus re-emphasizing how ridiculous it was to spend assets to acquire him in the first place.
- Kaliyev plays fewer than 10 games with the Kings this season.
- Kopitar breaks the 60-point plateau but not 70.
- Of the forwards with fewer than 100 games (Thomas, Turcotte, Laferriere, Fagemo, or any prospect that's called up), Thomas will lead them in scoring, but it will still be outscored by Clarke.
- Doughty and Kopitar will still lead the team in average TOI by the end of the season.
- At least Blake will be gone after the completion of the season. The Kings will have 2 first-round picks at the draft.

I went with Kings win the Cup last year, well, we know how that went.

2022 Kings made the playoffs and lose to the Oilers in 7 in the first round
2023 Kings made the playoffs and lose to the Oilers in 6 in the first round
2024 Kings made the playoffs and lose to the Oilers in 5 in the first round
This year I'm going with Kings make the playoffs and lose to the Oilers in 4 in the first round.

I honestly do know, but my gut tells me just outside of the playoff. Maybe 90 points. I just don’t see where the goals are coming from.

I think we see QB break through and one of the other youngsters break through as well
Fiala will do Fiala things. Score a bunch and commit stupid penalties.

Oh yes and I’ll watch every game of it……provided the games are even televised.

"1st" line is terrible.. there is talk of moving QB back to wing there, w Turcotte and Lewis centering bottom 2 lines
Laf and Jeanot descend in the lineup over 1st 20 games
Foegle moves up
Kuemper is dodgy
Clarke gets no PP time
QB PP1
QB finally gets primary role in OT
If above true QB easily gets > 70 points
Fiala and QB have conflict over who carries through neutral zone (but work it out)

-Kopitar's offense sputters prompting a QB move up to QB-Kopitar-Kempe within 15 games. Finishes with 55 points. QB ends with 75;
-Doughty 60 points, Norris finalist, in large part to Spence/Clarke pushing him to his last truly great season;
-Fiala 99.99999999 points;
-Kuemper pulls a Talbot, absolutely excellent thru 30 games, then completely falls apart, goaltending held together 5 games at a time throughout the rest of the year;
-Trevor Lewis plays 82 games;
-Turcotte/Thomas/Fagemo play less than Trevor Lewis combined;
-Gavrikov follows the Roy storyline, we lose him for nothing in the offseason;
-Moore and Danault both play their reliable roles, 20 goals 50 points each;
-Clarke gets to 40 points, almost all at even strength;
-Breakout of the year--Jordan Spence.
-Englund plays more games than Edmundson;
-Jeannot breaks his hand punching Radko Gudas' adamantium jaw;
-Arthur Kaliyev starts a popcorn critic website

Otherwise, Kings offense and PP are both bottom 5. Defense and PK top 10. Results in most extremely ok season possible, 92 points and last playoff seed in the West, win 2 games in a lopsided series, Blake's Nashville fantasies come true in the best way, "we were right there," Blake and homies surf into the sunset after a top-gun esque beach volleyball montage with righteous late-80s music

-Byfield C experiment ends as soon as Kopi’s production declines. 55-11-9 is the 1st line by the quarter mark
-Clarke plays less than 40 games with the Kings, spending half the year in Ontario
-Multiple games where Spence is scratched to ice an Edmundson-Englund pairing
-Lewis is 3C by end of season, centering Fiala and Laferriere
-Jeannot is stapled to Moore/Danault, scores 10 goals
-Turcotte stays healthy and puts up 35 points on the 4th line. Thomas is a bust. Kaliyev spends the entire year on the Reign

Kings get shelled the first half of the season similar to 2022-23. The 1-3-1 makes its triumphant return and turns the season around enough to grab the WC2 spot. Copley is the Game 1 starter. They take the Oilers to 4.

Blake retires after the season. At the exit meeting press conference featuring Luc and new GM Nelson Emerson, the phrase “winning is hard” is used more than once.

Thomas ends up on the top line by the TDL, ending with 20g and 3 fights
Jeanot leads NHL in hits and Kings in fights.
Clarke and Doughty end up on PP1 together.
Kuemper has 40 wins and a .919 s%
Byfield nets 30 + 45
Turcotte has no injuries
Fiala leads team in scoring with more than a ppg.

# I don’t actually think any of this will happen… well maybe QB and Fiala a stretch.

Man I love the detail lol

Marc Bargain Bin is the new GM of the Kings by the trade deadline.
If that happens I’m finding pics of Elon peeing someone and extorting him into buying me the team.

I said it at the end of last year, with Todd getting fired and the Kings naming Hiller head coach without interviewing a single other candidate, it should be clear where Luc stands. He's getting his buddies jobs and surround himself with yes men.

If Blake goes and Luc stays, Bergevin is likely the next in line. For things to change, Blake and Kuc both need to be gone.

Kopitar plays less minutes with QBs emergence and once again leads this team in scoring, Clarke is a top 5 scorer in the team and Kuemper has a resurgence and the Kings make the playoffs again..

Kopitar - 80+ points
Byfield - 70+ pts
Kempe - 35+ goals
Fiala - 40+ assists
Clarke - 55+ pts
Keumper - 30+ wins

The Kings play a heavy, hard hitting game and advance to the second round by. Rating the VGK only to lose to EDM …. Again…4x
Blake gets fired
Gavrikov gets traded

Another press conference stating that the Kings were "right there" in May.
Father time finally comes for 11 and 8 as both see stretches on IR.
They'll be more fun to watch even though they'll win less games.
We'll complain that the rookies aren't getting enough ice time while aging vets see too much.
BLuc will F up the TDL and LAK will have less draft capital than they do now.
LAK will stick with Balley's as the rest of the league build their own formats for easier access for their fans.
Nothing we haven't seen before

Even Strength Goals Last Year:
Draisaitl 20
McDavid 24
Foegle 18
Fiala 18
Kopitar 16
Kempe 20

Fogele Shooting %:
2023-24: 10%
Career Average: 10%

It will be interesting to see if he's able to maintain it this year. Maybe he can be the next Trevor Moore?

Last year his most common linemates were Draisaitl and Mcleod:
GF%xGF%TOI
Foegele w/ Draisaitl
58.14
57.48
387:31:00
Foegle w/o Draisaitl
44.9
58.4
625:52:00
Foegele w/ McLeod
56.25
59.52
469:57:00
Foegele w/o McLeod
48.33
56.8
543:28:00

Notice the goals for % dropped off when he wasn't playing with Draisaitl and/or McLeod. BUT the expected goals % was about the same regardless.

So what to trust more? Actual goals? or expected goals? He was also in a contract year.

I'm guessing he'll score ∼15 ES goals. But if he's playing with QB, and QB breaks out, I could see him replicating or even exceeding last year's production. Hopefully both players breakout together.
