2024 2025 Playoff Tracker

Of course the games matter. But if you are expecting us to win 10 of 13 against mostly the best teams in the league, which is what we need to do at least to make the playoffs, I think that is an unreasonable expectation. Our beginning record with Todd (15-5) is not how good we are, we are much worse than that. Talent wise we are about at .500 type team. We are a lower tier one line team with bad D and goaltending. We have virtually no secondary scoring and the D speaks for itself. Goaltending is all over the map.
if you believe that we are a .500 team then we should expect to win 12 of our final 24 games. we've already won 2, that would mean that we're due to win 10 more. now, do i believe that is likely is to happen? not really. do i think it's impossible? also no

our remaining games are utah, colorado, ottawa, boston, st louis, carolina, florida, montreal, florida, tampa, dallas, nj, toronto. utah and boston should be wins. i don't agree that ottawa, st louis and montreal are so significantly better than us that we should automatically count on losing. the final 5 games are against teams that will solidly be in the playoffs, so maybe we get lucky with them resting a couple of their stars

the games that i think we'll lose for sure is against colorado because it's the second of a back to back and the third game in four nights, the lightning game for the same reason, and the toronto game because it's the second of a back to back and it'll be the fifth game in eight nights

Our defense sucks outside of Seider, Ed, and AlJo. Chiarot belongs on the 3rd pair. Holl belongs in the AHL. The playoffs seem like a pipe deeam this year barring some miracles. Just tank at this point, bring up ASP and maybe Danielson or Mazur next season, and for the love of pete, make sure that whoever we pick in the draft and sign/trade for in the off season are non-fecal players.

Still three points out, Habs lost to Canes. They only had 15 shots so nice to see Canes do it to others. Vancouver blows a 3-0 and 5-3 lead to Jackets, and Jackets win in a shootout. So they move back into wild card spot two. Rangers still play the Ducks tonight.

Has me thinking of that home and home losses to Habs, obviously those Jackets losses earlier and losing to the dang Sharks twice.

Was nice being a point out for a couple hours, have a game in hand against the Rangers but don't have much confidence it would be a win.

This organization just does not get it and I’m not sure they ever will. They can’t win a game when the pressure is on for a playoff spot but boy they can win when it means nothing and blow draft position. I’d rather lose every game then do what the Detroit Red wings have done for almost a decade. I’m one frustrated beyond belief Wing fan. It’s gotten real old.

We are back to 3 points out as the Habs just won and are back into WC2 spot @ 77 points with game in hand on Rags. Even in gp with us so this next 2 weeks going to be interesting

Tough slog for you guys this year. Seems like all of the baggage from the Blashill/Lalonde tenures, and probably a ton of non-disclosed injuries, finally caught up to you. Hopefully Yzerman can fix some of the broken parts and a full year under McClellan should be the difference. Was rooting for you guys to be where Ottawa is, but that fall-off in March was just too much. Just needed to play .500 in March and it would have been an easy playoff spot.

Sucks that Montreal is missing Reinbacher and Demidov and still look this good.

Keeping some vets like Gallagher and Matheson, while trading for Laine seems to have paid off. They may see regression when Matheson leaves or falls off though, he carries quite a load right now.
