Robert Thomas is back tonite for St.Louis after missing 12 games due to a broken ankle.Just amazing at how fast he healed.
Vancouver Canucks forward JT Miller has taken an indefinite leave of absence for personal reasons. That will most certainly hurt the Canucks.

Very weird situation over there. Some Canucks insiders were saying it was a shoulder injury but a couple others came out and said he "needs time to reset," which if i had to guess is likely being fed to them right from the Canucks front office as a way to try and deter digging into the story.

More ominously, a couple hours before this story broke, a guy on the Canucks reddit posted a thread in which he said he was close friends with people in JT's inner circle/family and told the fans to "prepare" for a story to come out about how Miller was taking a leave of absence and to keep him in their thoughts. A couple of the subreddit regulars started digging into his post history and they found multiple references of him saying Miller was recently diagnosed with a degenerative disorder in his neck/spinal area and was trying to combat it with medicine (not painkillers as far as i could read) to stay on the ice a few weeks prior. He apparently revealed Miller's wife also just became a stem cell donor very recently.

Sure enough, within about 2 hours of this guy making that post, the Canucks dropped this and that dude deleted his account.

I'm no expert. but "needing a reset" would check out for a guy who may or may not have just found out his career is over if that claim has any legs. Hope he's alright regardless.

Edit: Someone used the reddit undeleter app thing to go and get a screenshot of the post.

Leafs get some KARMA last night when Goldenkights Whitecloud left feet and nailed Matthew Knies forcing him out of the game..Remember Pacioretty leaving feet and putting PeeKe out? Karma & they don't like it.

And Foligno scored an empty net goal to wrap the game up. The former Bruins on Chicago scored 2 goals ( Foligno and C. Smith ) and added 2 assists ( Bertuzzi and Maroon ) tonight.
Got to see my first live game in Winnipeg during the 22-23 season but no Hall or Foligno in the lineup which was a bummer. But got to see Bert set up a goal 10 seconds in.

Still have a soft spot for that roster despite the first round choke.

I don't blame Sid. I watched the first couple periods of that game and the Pens looked like assssssssss.

Zero compete level, zero drive. How Sullivan continues to survive is beyond me.

Some peak effort from Karlsson;

15,232 butts in the seats for a Friday night game against the best team in the league. Not as sad as Karlsson's effort but still pretty sad

yikes, Ovi started the season on a tear for an overachieving Caps team, this one hurts, especially as he`s not a 21 year old anymore and returning to game condition won`t be as easy

2 Cup rings is likely why he`s survived after his best before date

Imagine what it would be if Crosby wasn't there.

Maybe that's his motivation to stay in Pittsburgh through this rough time period. He's got his cups, maybe what he doesn't want is to see the franchise in dire financial straits. The franchise has been in trouble before.

Pens are soon to be in the same boat the B`s have been recently when Crosby and Malkin hang em` up, in fact, they`ll be in even worse shape as they`ll also be looking for a Letang replacement as well, simply near impossible to have a succession plan for what I imagine are 3 first ballot HOF`ers
