Difference is all those fanbases think they have teams that are playing outstanding hockey, we are really just burning time here and yet still keeping up the pace. I am not scared of anyone in the East. We just have to hope they can flip the switch back on as the season closes here.

I’m also not scared of the East teams “in principle” - and I think we could challenge anyone in the West for the Cup too - but it requires that the team takes further steps in effort and being in sync with each other.
All too often we fail to clear the puck or make a bad pass in the D-zone or don’t cover cherry pickers. Last season we did better in those aspects.

pace means nothing for a team like this. as long as we're close, we can close the gap or pull away very quickly with a win streak. we've done it before, we know the team can do it. it's clear they're coasting right now and they're still at the top of the standings.

I know we “can”. I’m not at all questioning their ability. They “can” win the Cup again, this season. This is a formidable roster.

McDavid cross checked Garland (VAN) in the head, got match penalty (but only 3 sec to go). Admittedly Garland held him down in the dying seconds in a 3-2 VAN lead. Should have been a penalty perhaps. But McDavid’s was a gross overreaction.
Edmonton fans are something else in their reaction. Funniest is where they call VAN fans the most insane fan base. Like LOL, look in the mirror, ever?
