I have made it a quest to always stay fluent. I watch RDS, BMP Sports almost everyday on YouTube. I love the French language
Yeah I'm making sure to not lose my French either by consuming Habs stuff through French. I try to watch French films as much as possible but modern French films are... terrible and I'm running out of classics/new wave. I love the language, love Québec, and love Québecois culture in as much as I can experience and consume it (sadly, am not able to contribute to it at the moment). People complaining about QC and its people have no idea how bad the same things are elsewhere.

Watch the series 'Corbeaux'

It is reminiscent of American series in this genre and not exactly a 'Lite' version of what gets done south of the border.

It's very hard if you aren't conversing and surrounding by the language in your everyday life.
It's incredible how easy it is to lose the accent and the ability to think in french when you aren't using it.
I worked with a clientele based in the States for years and never had to to use my french. It was only when at gatherings that I realized I was losing my ability to converse fluidly and found myself having to search for words. The accent however is the strangest thing. I grew up learning my french on the streets playing sports and was able to pass myself off as a Franco. It got to the point where when I took an assignment out west I was told I had a french accent when speaking English. For some reason as an Anglophone I felt offended. :dunno:

Now I get annoyed when I can't quite get the accent right speaking french.
