I can, because their pedigree is different. We've never drafted top5 3 years in a row, so there's a lot more drafting power there compared to before. It's also from a different scouting team. The 2022 draft was just 2 years ago and they've already hit on both Slaf and Hutson from that draft. We've never drafted this much from this high before, so it's far from originating from the same MO or mold.

While I did pump Caufield's tires, I wasn't among the bunch overhyping every prospect. It takes me a lot to believe in a group of prospect. Despite this, I'm quite comfortable drafting high one last time.

You listed like 10 prospects. No team ever hits on that many guys.

With 4 guys about to come back (Guhle, Slaf, Barron, RHP) does this mean they will have to send 4 guys down to Laval, if so who ?
Slaf/Barron were not put on IR, they stayed on the roster. Guhle is on IR, but that was to call up Condotta who was already sent down so his spot is currently open.

They will send Mailloux down thought once the Ds comes back, which will open a spot for RHP unless they send him down to the AHL to get back in shape.

It seems like there used to be a lot better reporting coverage not that long ago that would give much more updates on players and injuries.

Welcome to the 202xs. People get their (mostly fake) news from Facebook, get sports updates from the google summary, and generally pay for nothing.

It’s a vicious circle, I pay for the Gazette but I’m cancelling because there is so little left that isn’t paid ads pretending to be columns or corporate propaganda or whining about language. The sports pages have more Toronto content than Montreal. The price goes up, the content approaches zero.

Never pay for online content. It's just to sell you ads. YouTube even started to give ads to people who have premium to sell a bigger service to save those ads. Also alot of articles are click bait and alot of ChatGPT article.

That's sort of the problem, though. There used to be some actual news and professionalism paid for by ads and newspaper subscriptions and so forth. Now no one wants to pay for subscriptions and tech companies like google scrape the stories and display them with their own ads. There is no journalism because the only people willing to pay for it don't want to pay for honest reporting, just cheer leading.

Media companies end up doing cheap ads masquerading as news and running whatever news anyone will pay to put out there. The politicians that are willing to take the money and sell their souls are getting really positive coverage in a whole whack of countries, including here.

And, more important to this board, no one is willing to pay for good sportswriters so the sports sections suck. The NFL is still popular enough to get some good writers. I don't follow American football much, but a couple of the writers are good enough I'll read whatever they contribute. The NHL doesn't have that much pull, minimal "personal" stuff about some habs players, plus some cheap Toronto columnists going on about whatever.
