Injury Report: 2024-2025 Injury thread | HF’s Longest Thread Just Got Longer

Sergei Fedotov (he is Michkov's former agent, a Russian journalist and former scout for the Russian national team, a friend of Nichushkin):
"Nichushkin has had a chronic groin injury since his junior years. When he played in Dallas, it almost came to groin surgery. Now it has worsened, initially the team doctors told him that he needed 7-10 days of rest and everything would be fine, but when he resumed training, the pain did not go away. As a result, he flew to consult the doctor who performed Kane's hip surgery and this doctor, to put it mildly, told him that the team doctors were very wrong and more time was needed for recovery. It is expected that Nichushkin will return immediately after the break for the national team tournament. He also said that there is talk that Landeskog may also return to the team after this tournament."
Does Fedorov started working at a Denver grocery store as a bagger?

When we all discussed moving on from Nuke over the summer, obviously a lot of it was because of the suspensions. But health should have also been high up the list. Since coming back from Russia, he's only topped 60 games 2 out of 7 seasons (62 and 65).
Yeah this is my slight worry going into next season. The wingers we have are... less than reliable. Nuke for injuries and drugs. Drouin for health. Lehky for health. Landy for health. Necas from a consistency standpoint(although the talent is clearly there). It's too early to tell on the whole Mikko situation, but the dude was reliable and a lock for 75 games a year and while we have more cap flexibility we got rid of our most reliable winger by far. Will be interesting to see how everything shakes out.

how long is the recovery for a groin surgery? Are they waiting to time the decision so he is ready at Game 1 of the playoffs? Vegas strategy?

*Sheepishly puts up hand*
I do not want him fired.
I think I may be the only one who actually feels this way. Although, there are quite a few folks talking about whether it's time for a change or not, I don't think anyone is realy disgusted at him... even me. I'm not mad, I'm just done. There's nothing else to see here and I feel it's time to move on.

I get the need/want for new voices and ideas, I’m just scared to death of getting another Sacco.

We have a medical staff? Impressive

I like to think the Avs knew exactly what they were getting in to with hiring Joe. Sacco was brought in to lose and enable the Avs to get high draft picks to build a core around.

He was frustrating as all get out, but he did his job. I do not believe for a minute that you would see CMac and Sakic bring in an untenured boob with no real experience while trying to continue to win. The next time we get a talentless idiot as our coach, we can all rest assured the Avs have officially started their next rebuild.
