2024 2025 Injury Thread Hf’s Longest Thread Just Got Longer

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
Drouin actually has north of +$35M of career earnings.

How do you equate giving Rantanen a $3M raise to "losing, LOC + Drouin + Mitts + Lehky"???
The math really isn't that hard. Each of those 4 are / will be underpaid when their UFA year arrives (next year for LOC and Drouin.) With Mikko's raise, there is not room to give either Drouin or LOC even a $1M AAV raise next year. Mitts and Lehky will be impacted by Makar's future raise the season following their UFA year. Even with the cap increases, there will not be room for raises for Mitts and Lehky. Remembeer that both Georgie and Ritchie also expire in this interval as well.

Obviously, any of this depends on the situations with Landy and Nuke. If neither return that generates about $4M AAV after replacement players.

So there are 12 variables involved in this equation, not 2. So its not Rantanen' raise will make us lose 4 players. I'm not saying his raise will not hinder the ability to keep everyone, you are absolutely correct that there will be repercussions. Its the drastic direct correlation of "will lose 4 players" that makes me cringe...

When is lehkonen expected to be return fully?

Enjoy this classic Bedsy injury update on Lehky.

He also said he doesn't want to put a date on his return, but doesn't expect him to be a full participant in camp or exhibition. Said his shoulder was pretty bad when they went in and fixed it.

We have a fairly easy schedule in October so we should be able to get by without Landy, Lehky and Val

Immigration issues with Kyllington apparently, should be good to go tomorrow.

But Pavel is out of camp, again

Jeez. I know some don't think Pavel would make it anyway, but sucks that he's severely impacted his chances of making the team, by getting hurt during camp two years in a row.

That's when you make your best impression on NHL coaches.

How is he trolling?

I tend to agree with @the_fan , the Avs should be able to get by with those 3 missing. They definitely won’t be racking up points, but should be good enough to survive and stay within fighting distance
I was just kidding. Last time a poster (forgot who it was) posted that the Avs had a soft schedule to start the season, he got challenged and it turned into a 2 pages debate...

I think they'll get by to start but if they don't get significant contributions from one of Landeskog/Nichushkin by December, IMO they'll be in trouble. The key is to do whatever it takes to keep the top guys from getting completely burned out.

It also comes down to goaltending. The best thing Georgie can do to keep his team from having to work so hard for wins is to not make it so they have to f***ing score four goals every night in order to have a chance. Bednar could maybe make for a better PK as well...but I've been banging that drum for years.
