Speculation: 2024-2025 General Discussion III

  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. I would get ready for a pretty underwhelming trade deadline. To get someone good with term it would mean trading Howard Or Geekie which I highly doubt we’re gonna do. We will probably just trade the 2026 1st for some half decent player.
 
This team has spoken with the recent win streak, JBB has to validate this with a big deal. It's not a matter of if, but for whom and how much

We definitely need to beef up the bottom size with a vision. Either speed and size to outscore, or heavy and gritty to go toe to toe with anybody. I think Washington is a legit threat in a best of 7. Florida and Toronto are also difficult.

I'm really hoping JBB adds to the forward group.

No surprise but there are 31 teams in the league that would take him in a heartbeat. Great story, hope he cashes in. Knew deep down he'd stay there but held out hope anyways, oh well.

Usually we make deals a bit before the deadline, wouldn't surprise me to see BriseBois make something happen soon. I don't expect a quiet deadline at all.

Yeah I could care less about adding to the defense. With a week left I just want JBB to make the right move. It can be something as simple as trading for Maroon for a 6th rounder for the sheer sake of him tormenting other teams or going mad and selling the farm for Rantanen. Don't hesitate

I'm over my PSTD of the last 2 years. If what we saw today is the real Lightning, we're gonna be a bitch to stop
 
Would a Palmieri and Cizikas package work? Think it checks a few boxes for you guys. No retention on Cizikas but 50% on Palms.

I'm not really sure. I don't think we can come anywhere CLOSE to making him the highest player in the league.

I'm leaning more now toward the side that says we really don't need more top end scoring.
 
My guess is two forwards are added. One who can play in top 6 if need be, and another for lower down in the lineup. We basically have 10 regulars, 11 if you include Goncalves.

I think Palmieri would be a fit, although probably on the second page of a big list we'd have. I think your value is reasonable and in the ballpark of what we'd be willing to pay. Cizikas I don't think is a fit, from a need standpoint or from a cap standpoint.
