Speculation: 2024-2025 General Discussion III: We’re back! Kind of.

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
I doubt we're going for Gourde & Tanev, we need middle six wingers (which we're rumored to be in on with Tuch and were rumored to be pushing hard with on Saad).

Right now we have 11 forwards on roster, something is definitely coming.

I hope Atkinson clears, doesn't have a fit on the roster but think he'd be really nice to have in the locker room on a playoff run.

Sheary is being called up to save the day. Nothing to see here.

I'm not saying JBB absolutely *has to* make his moves today. But if you have made up your mind, make your move before someone else does. We're fortunate McDonagh fell into our lap after missing out on Hanifin

I expect something to be done today, once it's announced Atkinson and Brown cleared.

I think we (or are least I did) overreacted and there's nothing even agreed to on paper yet. Otherwise there is a really good chance the person we're trading for was exposed to potential injury risk by playing last night

It's perhaps more possible JBB made up his mind yesterday but hasn't called yet

The Tampa Bay Lightning have found a winning formula that is serving notice to the rest of the NHL that they’re capable of making another run at the Stanley Cup this season.
The Lightning (36-21-4) have gone from a team battling for a wild card spot in the Eastern Conference to pushing toward the top of the Atlantic Division by going 10-1-1 in their past 12 games […].
“It’s a pretty confident group,” Lightning coach Jon Cooper said. “A lot of people think of the Tampa Bay Lightning as scoring a bunch of goals, but we’re doing with defense. That’s been the key for us in this little stretch and couldn’t be coming at a better time as we’re going down the stretch here and trying to solidify a playoff spot. So, hopefully, we can just keep this going.”
“For my money, they’re as good a team as we’ve faced this year,” Washington Capitals coach Spencer Carbery said after losing 3-1 to the Lightning on March 1. “I think their team is extremely formidable.”

Despite BriseBois indicating that's it, I'd be surprised if he sees Goncalves as an everyday player in the playoffs. I'm getting greedy but would like someone better suited for being a 12th forward.

I guess they could go Gourde-Paul-Goncalves and put Chaffee on the 4th but still.

I’m wondering if he moves perbix and finds a better depth defenseman Friday?

There is a possibility. Its JBB and he still has draft picks left. Specifically another Second round pick this year. If there is some real creativity, could get 2 roster players out of it.

they've been playing better recently, but i still feel like our bottom pairing is gonna get destroyed in the playoffs.

We're fine. Hedman and McDonagh are rarely going to leave the ice. There will be stretches where they just alternate back and forth. The bottom pairing is gonna get 12 minutes and Coop will probably shelter them with the Kucherov line

I think we are gonna see an upgrade either there or on the 4th line by tomorrow

I really hope that Geekie can gain weight and strenght next season or two. He will be great top 6/9 player something maybe less skilled Tkachuk type of player with great shot an physical game, if he can blossom in next seasson or two it will be great addition to main roster.
I cant tell anything about Howard, but if Geekie and Howard can get top6/9 spot next season or two, and we will add some players in offseasson...oh man, our window will be wide opened for next at least 4 years
