I believe a trade proposal surrounding Schenn and Knies was throw out today during BK & Ferrario's interview with Darren Dreger. I know Alex and Brandon read our posts LOL.
Did Dreger completely shut it down because I don't think there's a chance of this happening. If it did, I'd drive Schenner to the airport myself.

Would the Blues entertain an offer to Winnipeg for Schenn? They have some tradeable assets and a fair amount of cap space.

Who would you be targeting? Freij? Salomonsson? I guess Yager would be off the table. What's the deal with Colby Barlow BTW, seems like he's regressed a lot.

Detroit would also be a good tradingpartner. Even though we have quite a lot of winger depth, I wouldn't mind someone like Brandsegg-Nygård or Kiiskinen. Danielson would be a pipedream if we can finally cash in on all those future considerations. I fully expect Sandin-Pellikka to be off the table.

One of Freij or Salomonsson I would ask. Kieran Walton or Kevin He are interesting. Kevin He can fly and has some snip in him. Dirty player too…. Walton has really progressed and is like 6’5” center

Army has said in the past that is his process. he won't approach a player until they have a firm deal set.
Makes sense. It would be a lot of unnecessary drama and anxiety to give players a blow by blow picture of potential trade scenarios as you try to find a mutually acceptable deal. We’ve heard about several times where a deal was agreed to, and the player nixed it.

I’d be surprised if Schenn negated a deal to a real contender.

This is the most detail I have seen but not sure if it’s 100% accurate. I don’t know how Korac would know that Schenn would block any trade. If Schenn said as much, why aren’t there quotes from Schenn?

"To this point, Schenn has not been approached about waiving (the no-trade clause) nor are there any indications that he would, even if approached," Korac reported.

Right, but there’s no quote from Schenn saying “I’m not worried because I’m going to block any trade”
...and Korac never reported that Schenn is going to block any trade or said that he 'knew' that Schenn would block any trade.

Schenn's quote is certainly not an indication that he would waives his NTC. Him repeatedly saying he loves it here and that being here is the best thing for him is not an indication that he would waive. It doesn't mean that he will block any trade, but it also supports a notion that he isn't eager to accept a trade to just anywhere. Korac's conclusion is absolutely supported by the Schenn quote.

I think we’re splitting hairs. Korac saying “nor are there any indications that he would, even if approached” is really 2 different things.

The first part is fine. Schenn is always going to give a corporate type answer when asked about trades, and it’s expected.

“even if approached” steps into the realm of assumption. This comes across as Schenn is ready to veto any trade. Korac doesn’t know this information to be a fact.

This is how I read Korac’s comment. You and others can have a different opinion.

I would lean towards thinking Schenn would waive if asked, and maybe we’ll find out.

He also said yesterday they are waiting to see what happens this weekend before deciding how they move forward I would assume on any deals. They have Winnipeg and Colorado so….i don’t see 4 points today.

The problem with this is that we always play Winnipeg(we're 27-23-1-8 against them lifetime with just an 18 goal differential in those 59 games) and Colorado(76-69-11-8 with just an 8 goal differential) tough.
We could very easily get up for those two games and eek out the win; and then blow 6 of the next 7 against Seattle, Washington, LA-X3 and Dallas(pretty sure we can win the Anaheim game).

It's a canned answer from the captain. We can't draw anything negative or positive from it. He could block, he could not. We're no closer to knowing than we were last week.

The way Binnington plays big games in Boston, the Bruins would likely offer a big haul, lol.
Or maybe Winnipeg might be tempted to package Hellebuyck with a couple of firsts for Binny, hee hee.
Edmonton will be the team that offers a King's ransom for him, if any team does.

I think some people are misinterpreting the statement of “no indication” - it means what it says. Has Schenn, his camp, or anyone close to him said anything about him being open to a trade? No? Then there are no indications that he would waive if asked. Nothing he has said or done has indicated that he would waive. All this means is that he’s never said anything publicly, but why on earth would he? That’s the problem with Korac’s statement - it’s simply stating the obvious.

I think now would be a pretty appropriate time to start considering moving Binnington a bit more seriously. He's continually proven he shows up in the big games. I don't think we're going to be in many big games throughout his contract. We should probably look to make sure that Hofer is our guy going forward.

I would look for a return similar to what Markstrom got. I don't think that's an outlandish ask either especially with the cap rising.

I want him to retire a Blue, he's been one his entire career.

If this is the yr Carolina is going all in they should make a run at him.
