2024-2025 Blues Multi-Purpose Thread.

EF, "the morning of Canada’s must-win game against Finland in the 4 Nations, I went down to the hotel lobby to leave for the rink. You know what song was playing? Gloria. Doug Armstrong, Jordan Binnington, Colton Parayko. No way they were going to lose."
Lol when did Friedman drop this one? I listen to his pod, but often times while working. Could have missed it.

Buch has been horseshit most of the year. Maybe the war has him upset and he’s not mentally focused. Possible, I guess.

I think this post could be appropriate in multiple different threads so I'll post it here. At around 24:00 is Elliotte Friedman discussing the win last night and reports of Schenn potentially nixing a trade at the deadline if he wasn't going to be reunited with his brother after his teammates reinstilled confidence in the team's ability to win down this stretch.

The combo of Kyrou improving his play and him and Holloway developing great chemistry has been huge. Their combined speed makes them incredibly dangerous together.

And I know Schenn has improved his play as well, but I'm leaning to the point that we can more or less put any competent top 6 C on that line, and they will produce top 6 numbers. We have the Thomas line, where we know we can put anyone with him, and that line will produce. Having 2 consistent top 6 lines, where the HC doesn't have to think about loading one up with talent to get something, he can just roll both of them out and have confidence is huge in getting us from no playoffs to into the playoffs.

Next part is getting the 3rd line to be consistent offensively, and Bolduc has been big for that, and as we get guys like Dvorsky, Snuggerud, and Stenberg up in the next couple seasons, we'll be there.

I know we all have our thoughts on Dom, and this post isn't meant to pump his tires, just to highlight the change in our team. In The Athletic's recent power rankings today, we are 15th, and Dom has us 12th.

For player cards here are some of our values:

Thomas: 9.1M
Kyrou: 8.7M
Holloway: 8.8M
Broberg: 8.1M
Parayko: 6.9M
Schenn: 5.3M
Bolduc: 4.9M

Nah, Leddy is playing fantastic.
The only minutes we’re losing right now are the ones with he and Fowler on the ice. Tucker and Suter have also been a much more effective combination than Suter and Leddy.

Not sure what makes you say he’s playing fantastic but I’ll just say I disagree. Very passive defender that let’s opponents establish OZ possession way too often and contributes almost nothing offensively.

I've notice that Tucker is not shy about shooting when he can. Put it on net and see what happens!

Edmonton ought to love that.

There won't be one. Toronto isn't dumb enough to put themselves in that position.

Plus we don't have the picks
At one time we didn’t have the picks for the Edmonton offer sheets either.

I’d be surprised if any GM is that cavalier about his vulnerable young assets next cycle. But maybe players will actually try to solicit offer sheets by bargaining harder and not signing. The teams’ advantage is in matching the terms of the meddling team.
