Why is it so important for someone to backtrack previous comments?

It’s as if people’s sanity depends on another person “acknowledging” something.

Admit you were wrong!!! Waaaaaaa

This is stupidity. This line of thinking is stupid. Grow the f*** up.

Summa y’all are getting waaaaaay too upset over criticism.

You’re trying to guide my thoughts

Jesus f***ing Christ this is getting stupid.

I don’t get it.

Who is getting way too upset over criticism? The guy who calmly asked a question, or the one who posted all of that?

Moving this out of the Holloway thread.

Honest question. If Kyrou did magically hit that next gear, are you willing to allow him to make bad turn overs while trying to constantly go 100% at all times or are we going to shit on him every single time he turns it over?

Another question. If he does hit that next gear, do you really expect him to do it when he constantly gets stapled to Saad who had not had a great start of the season?

We want Kyrou and Thomas split up and Thomas Gets Buch and Neighbours and Holloway gets Bolduc. So that leaves Kyrou with Saad and Schenn. Kyrou and Schenn has been working this year. But Saad has been dragging them down.

Who your line mates are should have no effect on how much effort you bring to the table and if it does then you're a f***ing piece of shit that we need to trade.

So much this.

So far we got “Kyrou haters” and “Kyrou hater haters”.

Got it.

As amazing as I am, I am always striving to be better, no matter what.

Yeah I don't buy that excuse. The best players on a team are supposed to make their linemates better, not the other way around. If a guy needs to play with elite talent to produce like a top player then I question if he's really a top player or more of a complimentary one. When Thomas was out, Kyrou had good games but he also had a 10-game goalless stretch and was inconsistent. We needed him and Buch to step up when Thomas was out but both of them came up a bit short I'd say.

I notice people are praising him for back checking and breaking up plays as if every single forward isn't supposed to do that all the time. I don't award bonus points for that but it's good he's putting in more effort on the defensive side. He'll likely never be a great defensive player, but there are signs he's getting better.

I don't consider myself a Kyrou "hater" and I think his issue is more a lack of focus than lack of effort. I just want him to clean up his mistakes, finish a few more chances and find a little more consistency. He's been much better since Monty took over and if he can avoid the prolonged cold streaks he has had in recent years then I won't have much to complain about. I don't think that's an unreasonable ask.

You have anything useful to say @WaltPoddubny? I'm guessing not.

Why shouldn't it matter? Honest question.
They'll still most likely come out ahead, just not nearly as much as some think. States are still collecting that revenue, just in different ways. Each state will different in how, and states could pull less from the high earners and more from middle class, but whether it's sales tax, property tax, or some other revenue generator, the players are still paying a sizable chunk to the state.

They also pay tax based on where the game is played, so only 51 games are paid in their home state.

Central could become pretty attractive with Texas, Tennessee, and Missouri if we go that route.

MvsW is still the best hockey podcast/show ever and his vibe on the Sheet is very much the vibe he put out back then. I'm extremely happy to have him back on the air and even happier that he is unconstrained. It's already a daily listen for me and my only real complaint about it is the terrible commercial placement. I know he hates structuring his show around ad breaks, but it is brutal the way ads just cut in mid-sentence.

Nice writeup on Marek that I stumbled into this morning. Glad to see others are enjoying his podcast as much as I am. What I believe comes across with him is that he is an extreme hockey nerd, but without the level of sanctimony that often comes with someone hyper-obsessed with something.

Benn did always come off as more of the rival you could joke with, as opposed to someone like Keith that was just scummy.

Plus there are a lot of guys that are total jerks on the ice but really nice guys off the ice. Benn actually seems to be pretty likeable based on what I've heard, kind of like Doughty and Thornton.

One of my critiques of Kyrou is how his production can be inconsistent. In his last 21 games, he has 18 points (11g/7a) and points in all, but 4 games. And 14 of his points are during even-strength. This is what we want from him. Game to game consistency with both goals and assists.
