That's the Kase one I referenced. This is more borderline than Trouba's on Barron IMO. Though I don't think this hit is egregious either. Z isn't dirty in the same fashion as Trouba. Not even close. I just simply don't think this hit on Barron is any worse than a number we have seen with Z.

For Trouba this is pretty clean hit.

He is a proper dirt bag.

@Pokecheque is right, he's the Tom Wilson of Defenseman. The only way you control that is taking his ass out with a big hit of your own, or beating his ass to a pulp for doing it. The league clearly DGAF.

Just get yourself a MacDermid, Kurtis-Type and have him shadow Trouba. He doesn't want anything to do with KMac.

I feel like it would be a significant downgrade to save less than 1M AAV.

I know he plays center and is a bit younger but still, now that we have Mitts the urge to find a 2C isn't the same as it was 2 years ago.

With Mitts in tow, there is much less incentive to solve the 2C position (IE zero incentive). Still people should really hold off on the hot takes. Petey is a streaky player who has these stretches, even long ones. But he's scored 30+ the last 3 seasons, had 89 points last season and 102 the season prior. We know he's a capable player who is simply in a slump.

Wow, a Canada jersey that isn't embarrassingly awful. Just wish they'd ditch the black altogether.

The USA one is meh, but better than what they've had before.

Finland could come out with a truly awesome jersey but they always make theirs way too busy.

Why they need to have two shades of blue I have no idea. Just pick one of them and go with it. Also, the crest could've been bigger and maybe in full colour.

The logo setup in 2010 was pretty good IMO

Yeah that ain't bad, but I agree wholeheartedly. I've said before I really don't care for navy blue on most uniforms, just drab and unoriginal. Could come out with something awesome based on the flag colors alone.

Am I the only person that thinks Aho is overrated? At least comparing him to the elite Finnish players. Why is he Finland’s “guy”? You got Barkov and Rantanen that are both better, more exciting , and have won.

I wouldn't say Aho is overrated. Why he is the face of Team Finland in this, probably just a matter of convenience somehow.

I would expect the captain of Finland be Barkov. The A's will probably go to two of Aho, Rantanen and Granlund.

It was never legit anyway, does it matter?

We can have FIFA World Cups without Italy fine too, so don't really see an issue with having a major tournament without Russia.

Plenty of people have said that Carolina can't really win a Cup until they get that gamebreaking superstar. And Aho, while expected to have been that guy (maybe Svechnikov to a lesser extent) hasn't quite met that lofty goal. He's very, very good, but not elite.

I wouldn't look into the selections made for this tournament too closely. It's an exhibition tourney of only four nations, and it's gonna be treated as such. Should make for some fun hockey but it's nowhere near the level of the Olympics or even the World Cup.

I’m not sure the players are going to look at it that way. Especially because of how long it’s been since a beat on best tournament was had.
