New Jersey should be one of the better teams in the East. Last season was ruined by poor goaltending and injuries (and mediocre coaching). They now have one of the better tandems in the league, have a better coach, and everyone is healthy. I'm not saying they are going to make a run for the cup, but they should be an excellent regular season team.
As for Buffalo, what really has changed? Nothing.
