2024 2025 Around the League Part 2

No one is paying attention but the Sharks are quietly laying the foundation to build a powerhouse. They're dead last in the league, so they'll likely secure another top-3 pick this year to join Smith, Celebrini, Dickinson and Askarov.

That could form a core with incredible potential, all that in only three years of tanking.

Looking a LOT better than the rebuilds of both Chicago and Anaheim, despite Anaheim's slightly improved season.

They need to bring back Georgiev for one more year of tanking.

McKenna, Celebrini, Smith, Eklund up front. Schaefer, Dickinson on D. Askarov in goal.

Crazy how much better off they are than Chicago! Bedard has no fun or good players to help him along

They could have drafted Buim aswell. They better hope Dickinson is that guy.

I am a firm believer that RWs, not points or ROWs are the best way to identify the best teams. If we use RWs the West right now is:

1) Vegas (42)
2) Winnipeg (39)
3) Dallas (39)
4) Colorado (38)
5) Los Angeles (35)
6) Minnesota (33)
7) Edmonton (30)
8) St. Louis (30)

Winnipeg has an absurd amount of ot/so wins this year. In actuality they are not above others in the West and it's Vegas that is the real juggernaut.

Sara Velli recently ranked Grier as a bottom 5 gm even though his resume wasn’t that dissimilar from Hughes. But Hughes shares information with Sara Velli.

In their last 3 games the Stars went 3-0, outscoring their opponents (Oilers without McDrai, Flames, Kraken) 14-6 while being outshot 128-64. How long will they be able to keep this up?

Blues are now closer to catching us than we are to catching the Stars. Stars could also realistically catch the Jets now too.
The Avs need 8 points in their remaining 8 games to secure 3rd in the central. And that’s IF the Blues win all 7 games remaining that they have. Magic number 8 means 3rd seed is locked in.

The AVS are in a perfect spot now. Can’t really catch the Stars and can’t be passed by the Blues. It’s a great position to be in going into the playoffs. They don’t need to be pushing 110% going into the playoffs.

I agree with the ROW. Ot wins has a lot of variance year to year.

3v3 renders ROW largely useless compared to RW. It’s closer to the SO than it is 5v5. Wish the league would move to a 3 point system or just go back to ties

Yeah for sure the RWs is the real indicator. Even if we look at the East:

1) Washington (40)
2) Carolina (39)
3) Tampa Bay (37)
4) Toronto (36)
5) Florida (35)
6) New Jersey (35)
7) NYR (32)
8) Ottawa (30)
