I'd eat my hat if the Habs use anything richer than a 3rd on a left shot defenseman.

How can you not like Stenberg?

And I'm definitely leaning toward putting Hrabal back as my top rated goalie. He's really reading the play and his footwork has improved.

Dvorsky got better as the game went along and was strong in an intense 3rd. He still projects as a two-way, 2nd line / 1B center along the lines of ROR. We'll see where he lands come draft day. Don't think he's an option at #5. Won't likely be there at 17.

With the way the D was falling in this game, there might be room for Moldendyk after all.

As long as Canada beats Czech Republic, they should finish 2nd & meet Switzerland in QFs.
Is there a better option in the eventuality Reinbacher is off the board and Michkov is a risk Molson cant take? Dvorsky or Leonard for me. What are your options?

I'd be really sad if we skip Michkov, Benson AND Smith for Dvorsky.

We don't need a safe top-6er with our #5 draft pick. We really need an offensively gifted prospect in our pipeline and that's not him.

We need to build a winner, Dvorsky brings both size and talent.

So probably no chance Willander makes it to our 2nd round pick, eh?

He has a nice set of tools and pretty good mobility. Played a bit with Engstrom in the Rögle organization so I’m assuming he’s been scouted a bit.

Apparently he’s committed to BU next season so I guess there’s decent odds he slots in as Hutson’s partner.

Sale is such a passenger.
Albeit a supremely skilled one.

What if he gets it? If he doesnt, can he have a Kessel career?

Yeah, he could. There are lot of good players in this draft.

BPA amigo.

I would take the next Mattias Ekholm if he was on the board in the 2nd round, or with out 17th pick.

Kent Hughes watching this wishing Monahan never played that Calgary game.

Monahan!

Re-sign Monahan to a 1 year deal. I'm sure there will be good players available in the late 1st round in next year's draft

Leonard, although if Michkov is there we really should not pass. I still have Smith on my board, although I've dropped Benson. I like him, but he's weak both at skating & shooting. It's a concern for someone so small.

Michkov & Bedard are exceptional. If we don't pick 5th or 6th, and fall to 7th then it's Leonard all the way for me. He's going to be an impactful two-way player similar to Dvorsky & Barlow, but with power skating, breakaway speed & solid edges. Leonard can burn people. He has a dimension the other 2 don't have while bringing similar traits.

He was also a center prior to joining u18 team. It's possible like Cutter Gauthier he gets moved back to center at BC, although with Smith & Perreault also going to BC maybe they just keep the line together.

I want Montreal to draft quality skaters. I want skill and speed.

Agreed 100%, although I'm still liking Benson.

I'm really liking the American trio of Smith, Leonard and Moore. If Moore can get his head and hands to process the play as fast as his feet, watch out.

If he does, hes gonna be Mackinnon. Its not likely it happens, thats something you develop over a decade.

I cant think of a player ever finding that gear where he had that skating and the rest of his skills caught up, the opposite, sure.

If we're trying to build a winner, then I take the best player available.

Dvorsky seems to be a complimentary add to a team that already has potential stars. I want to add that potential star to the team with the #5 pick and believe that all of Michkov, Benson, and Smith have more potential than Dvorsky.
