Prospect Info: 2023 WJC Thread

I'm not expecting Luke to just waltz in end of year and look like Makar or anything, but I have trouble agreeing with anyone who doesn't think the sky is the limit with him.

He certainly has better potential defensively than Quinn, and likely at least very close to Quinn's offensive level, and possibly more. The team is just PACKED with quality Dman prospects, and yes, I know how some likely end up busting, but still, quite a "collection". This will be helpful down the road, as we will have to remain cap compliant as guys go past their ELCs. Odds are we will sadly have to consider moving on from guys like Siegs and Marino etc. in a few seasons to make room for cheaper guys. The downside of success.

While many aspects of his defense arent good, I still truly believe with good coaching along with his size/length/skating, he can end up with above average defending. His skating is so good he can add 20 pounds of muscle with very little ill effects. Someone like Hutson can't.

Very few of those positions are paid. The perk is a press pass (if you wish to use it). It is a grind that eats up all your personal time if you have a job. If you stick with it a USHL or CHL team may pick you up. Most of the guys at FC during my time are all working for organizations in some aspect.

Me too. Of course my charges still won’t clean their rooms and in at least two cases bark at me when I coach them to sit.

If her post said something along the lines of “Luke Hughes’s ceiling might be capped because of _____ and _____, I don’t believe the road to the NHL for him will be as easy as people believe.” Or some other dumb nonsense it would be fine.

But she’s a “pro” scout tweeting about one of the top prospects with nothing more than “ehh he sucks.”

I like a lot of what EP produces, but they have way too many scouts/ writers who take such huge stances against prospects who aren’t even 20 yet. If you think poorly of a player, you should list “stuff that needs improving” and move on rather than just call a teenager bad.

Yeah, thanks for your work. I don't know why so many interesting "free" writers are devils fans. I didn't met as many Sabres oriented good writers.

I'm not a big fan what EP are doing. Its ok to listen them, but there were a lot of misunderstanding what will going on in the draft day.

You are spot on. Guys like Mitch Brown provide tremendous content. He doesn't pretend to be a scout though, he is a statistician. If he collaborated more with real scouts or coaches, I believe his products would be even better.

The rest are quite generic profiles with a sprinkle of Mitch's stats. Or they recycle other people's reports and call it their own.
