Great to see Gauthier on the ice though, had some real concerns after he got that cheap shot from Sturm.

I really didn't think he would be playing today,

The first game of the WC always gets me with the reffing, need to get used to this again quickly.

To my NHL-ready eyes there was only 1 penalty during that whole period, but we got 4.

Suomis top guys looks really good. That first line will probably be the best in the tournament.

I thought we played a good period. It could be more than 1-0 for us. Hopefully they kill this penalty and stay out of the box and we got this.

Finns seems to me more 'mature', but U.S. comes hard and fast. It is far from over.

Well I will state what everyone knew going into this the tournament this year anyway, the Finns are the team to beat, will be oh so tough to take down.

Thought the U.S picked up their game and it's too bad they took that silly penalty but let's see if they can knot it up with the rest of their p.p starting the 2nd.

This weekend people in Finland will be more interested in the Eurovision Song Contest than the hockey-toirnament.

Doubt it, the Eurovision ”hype” is perfect example of media driven and entirely manufactured hype, average person still doesn’t care one bit. Same thing happens every year.
