Jeez, Vladdy can't even catch a routine play to 1st base. that was pretty bad.

6-0 in the 4th.. this game is over. heck, it was over in the 1st, this team can't score any runs.

Let’s trade Vladdy for Soto this offseason. And let’s throw all the money we were willing to throw to Vladdy to Soto. Much better player.

Im really wondering what we could get back for Vladdy at this point. We’d be selling a bit low but for sure a team would pay up for him.

We're talking about a 4th outfielder here. And they did try to get guys (ie. Bellinger) but they went elsewhere.

There is no such thing as a perfect roster. Go through every team in MLB and there will be 1 or 2 holes or weak points. We're one of the most top-to-bottom solid/deep teams in MLB and they've been hard all-in for the past couple years making big moves to improve this roster.

This weird RISP thing that's happening is skewing perceptions of the team in a huge way.
Candelario would have the highest OPS on the team and plays infield.

And they haven’t been hard all in. That’s what’s so frustrating. He upgrades parts of the roster but leaves other parts clearly wanting and every year they suffer from those wanting parts.

It’s also not just hitting with RISP. They’re bad with runners on base period. Runner on first? Not only are they unlikely to make a productive out, they tend to hit into DPs instead. 3-1 count with runners on? They’re so anxious to hit they let the pitcher off the hook and strike out instead.

This team needed another good bat and a change in hitting coaches. Atkins really stood by the entire season, did nothing about it, and settled because the pitching and defense were carrying the team.

you couldn't get much at all for him...

on the radio they said if you take out his 2021 stats from dunedin/buffalo home games and until now, he's just an average first baseman when it comes to hitting.

average ain't gonna get you a $300M+ 10+ year contract he wants.

It's not a premium position, and you really have to be a heavy hitter 1B to get big money.

That’s the problem with Vlad, if he isn’t producing at the plate he isn’t going to bring much value on the field, which means he’s easily replaceable if this crap continues. I’m contradicting myself a bit here but there’s no way he’s getting anywhere close to 300 million dollars at this time. He would have to have a superstar season next year

And to reply.. yes I would trade Vladdy for Soto even if Soto has 1 year left before free agency

Oh there's no chance he's getting a long term deal in that range now. Jays dodged a major bullet.

If you ask me the Jays need to take him to arbitration and get his salary reduced next year. he got $14.5M for this year.

Why can't this team produce runs.

Guys just left on base all the time. Brutal.

The pitching which I thought would be decent is why their record is so good. Way better than I thought it'd be.

They'd be first in the division with guys who give a f*** and can hit the ball.

Reminds me of the f***ing Leafs.

"Superstars" who don't shit in the big moments.

Mariners already up 2-0…. Another late season heater by them just might knock the Jays out

160 million payroll just to miss the playoffs lol if that doesn’t scream problems I don’t know what will.

Might be time for Rogers and Shapiro in the winter to really start looking in the mirror and dealing with some big questions. Already invested in the pitching, you know Bichette has performed, completely flamed out on the Varsho deal, Vladdy is in decline already, Springer is injury prone and another year older. What’s the plan

Thats the one thing this team hasnt been on. a heater.

they win 3-4, then lose a couple, then win a few, lose a few... they were around 10 games over .500 for most of the season, then climbed a little recently after the baltimore disaster to 14 games over .500. they are back to 12 games over .500. lol.

they have had ONE 6 game win streak, that was the longest, in April. which they promptly followed by a 5 game losing streak. Two 5 game losing streaks this season.
