And not only at the plate, but defensively too. After he switched from 3rd base, he really seemed good at 1st base, especially last year. This year it's been a mixed bag at 1st base, and of course his loss of power.
Gold glove first baseman, who today can’t even take 1 hoppers from 3rd… he’s fallen hard both at the plate and in the field. When you don’t even play a valuable/premium position the least you can do is mash the ball… he’s not even doing that. His value to this team is zero right now.
Yeah he was really good at digging out the balls in the dirt, with stretches that seemed unnatural for his body type, last year.

Hudgens is the hitting strategist for the Jays and he’s tweeting political stuff a few minutes before the game.
The wild card spot is likely gone tonight and I don’t anticipate getting back into one the rest of the way. Look at how decimated the the Rays are and they remain competitive. This team is awful.
Honestly, why does he even have a job. He should have already been fired. He clearly doesn’t have a “strategy that I’ve seen”

I think the issues is “that” he tweeted 4 minutes before the game, he’ll be trouble for “what” he tweeted.
Not going to get political but his twitter 'likes' aren't good. Personally, if it gets him fired I will be glad. I still have no clue what his role is.
I rarely, if ever, see a player talking to him. I would want a hitting strategist to be a forward-thinking person. Hudgens doesn't strike me as that.
I have no idea what he does and if he even matters. But clearly he wasn’t focussed on the game.
