This game was completely demoralizing and showcased a lot of the problems on this roster.

It’s also not a great sign that Hicks blew up in his one inning. Watch De Jong go 0-3 tomorrow with 3 Ks.

Last year he had a slugging % of .489 against fastballs, in 2021 he had a .442 slugging % against fastballs. This year it is .347 slugging.

Coming into the year, hitting fastballs was a strength of his. They did something with his swing or stance and it has messed him up.
