This Canadian umpire is doing a really good job. Making us proud! Compare his work with that of that train wreck a few nights ago.

The pitching is so damn good. The offense is a joke but pitching wins when it matters. Gotta get there though.

Yeah the story of the year is pitching and defence. If Manoah was just average, the Blue Jays would be #1 in pitching era.

Offense has been good and bad. Overall it's about middle pack. If Kirk and Varsho were them selves, we would be top 10 for sure.

It's a great team. And especially so if a few key guys figure out their struggles.

Yeah Berrios yesterday & Bassitt today were ace, and so was the bullpen in those two games... Berrios didn't deserve the loss yesterday.
Berrios back to being a #2 pitcher is huge. Some of the doomers thought this guys career was over lol

He wasn't as bad as it seemed last year. Compared to how bad Manoah has been this year.

Team won quite a bit of his games beyond what his record was, but he was getting good run support last year, even though his ERA rarely dipped below 5 last year.

This year he's arguably better than he was when he was traded here, after the first couple rough starts.

His problem last year was when he was bad he was Manoah this season bad. But he had a lot of really good starts last year.

Of course right now you want to win as many games as possible and go for the division, BUT, later in the season if the division is out of reach you have to position yourself to finish 3rd in the wildcard. Will be interesting to watch that unfold. Jays would want to avoid Baltimore or TB in the wildcard series.

That's kind of a dangerous game. Minnesota and Cleveland have some tough pitchers who can easily dominate in a short WC series.

I think you gotta finish as high as you can and get home field. Didn't really help last year but it's better than going to the Trop/Camden/Progressive Field

Massive for Kirk. Hopefully it gives him a boost as we head into the stretch.
Yup. Jays need it. Kirk has been underwhelming.

I don't get it. I mean I do but at the start of the year I thought they'd have a lot more pop and no problem scoring at least 3 or 4 a game.

It pitching that's been good... which is encouraging come playoffs but they leave way too many guys on base. Need clutch hits from more guys in the lineup.

Lately they've been better obviously but they really need to get going in the second half.

I still think he was tipping pitches and some teams picked up on it and some not because it was night and day between his 23 best starts which looked the same as this year and his 10 worst starts where he was absolutely clownpounded like the other teams knew what was coming. It wasn't a 'consistently bad' thing where the stuff or the ability to throw strikes just wasn't there like Kikuchi last year or Manoah this year. He's have 2 or 3 very effective starts and then allow 7 runs in 1 inning in the next and then 2 or 3 more good starts and allow 10 runs in 3 innings in the next.

I hear you, friend. I guess Baltimore and Tampa live rent free in my head.
