Definitely quick but makes sense with Kikuchi getting hit twice by Teo and his propensity for homers. Richards is a good follow up. I’m not sure if I would’ve done it but I get it.

Any reason for taking Kikuchi out? Seems he is pitching really well. Not a lot of hard hit balls. I would be angry.
Bullpen has been awesome and with Green potentially coming back there will be lot of depth so we should probably expect the starter to be removed as soon as things could go south i guess.

This is why bullpens are unpredictable. Essentially the same pen with the exception of Swanson. Last year it was average at best. This year it is one of the top ones in the AL.

Richards was everyone’s whipping boy and DFA target last year. This year he is top 10 in K% and swinging strikes. The Jays opener, bulk guy, middle guy and swing and miss guy.

Cimber had the lowest ERA of all relievers in Jays history and he had a 7 ERA this year.

Garcia was money last year. Unplayable to start this year and back to shut down.

Some wanted Mayza gone after the HR of Santana in game 2. This year he is practically an all star.

Even Romano was given up on by 3 teams in 2020 in the rule 5, and now he is one of the best closers in the league.

You forget Pearson who has been quite good. Jackson has been very good lately too even if the sample size is small.

Sometimes adding 2 guys like Swanson and Pearson can make a great difference. Guys get demoted one or two spot in the hierarchy and it's easier for them since they are used more properly. I think the mental is often the biggest problem with some relief pitchers. If you use them in the 9th or 8th instead of the 7th they'll crumble under pressure.

It's like in hockey if you are missing a 1st line LW then it means you 2nd line LW is playing 1st line, your 3rd line LW is playing 2nd line and your 4th line LW is playing 3rd line. Missing a 1st line LW makes everyone else on the LW look worse because they are not used properly.

Oh well done they’re getting out of it. Just tuned in for the bottom of 7 with 2 on none out, good timing.

Pearson was good early on and joined the team in May but has been losing his edge lately. Given up 10 earned runs in his last 11 appearances and 5 ERs in his previous 17.

Jackson is another. Braves let him go, Jays pick him up and after spring training let him go. He comes back on a minor league deal and he is money I’m his short period of time.
