The lack of consistency can’t solely be put on conditioning. While his weight may be an issue that he needs to control, there’s plenty of athletic catchers that cannot even hit as well as current Kirk.

Vladdy hasn't had an extra base hit in 12 games, and he has 3 extra base hits in all of June.

It's June 19th.

He's had one home run off a real pitcher in 6 weeks.

He has 9 homers all year, 8 real ones.

I don't care that he's hitting singles. singles are garbage for a player of his supposed caliber.

Not that I disagree, I mean his power numbers are at career lows right now, but this logic is essentially why Cito thought Carter > Olerud, right?
 
Chapman error in the 1st thankfully did not hurt.

He's had more errors now than all of last year.

You hit the ball that hard in the air and good things will happen. Dude needs to elevate like 2021. We need 113 mph homeruns that score 3. We don't need this guy to be hitting ground ball singles. We need a dangerous hitter that other teams fear. Nobody fears him anymore because he's easy to pitch to and isn't a HR threat.

Dude gets off so easy in this market for a guy who is suppose to be a franchise player. This guy would be getting destroyed in a major US market for continually underperforming his talent. He needs to step up or Jays need to reevaluate if they want to build around him going forward.

Quite amazing. I expected this team to be much better and consistent. Really disappointing and it will be extremely tough to even make the playoffs. Lots of questions.

Baseball is weird. The offense could get going and Manoah comes back and pitches great and the team goes on a run. The other end could happen, offense continues to struggle and a starter gets injured and the team nose dives.
