Vlad looks like a guy whose cashed in at a young age and doesn't think he has anything left to learn. We see it in all sports, but more so in markets such as Toronto where athletes are treated like gods. A lot of them allow it to go to their heads and think they are masters of their craft. A lot of the mistakes I see the team and Vlad making are mistakes that shouldn't be happening at this level.

An off year or not, there is something about the core of this team that I just don't see ever truly competing. They no doubt have the skill level to get there, but some of these egos are preventing them from learning what it takes to reach that next level.

I know people will disagree with me on this one, but I think the team should seriously think about a blockbuster move. The current leaders are never going to get it done.

OPS doesn’t tell the complete story because while it might be similar to his earlier seasons, league wide offence is significantly down from 2019-2020. Then you have to take into account the park factors, especially how effective the new dimensions at the dome have been for power output (homeruns way down).

Home: .239/.311./.299, 72 wRC+
Road: .318/.388/.543, 160 wRC+

Gurrerro and Manoah were a combined 9.9 bwar last season. This season they are a combined -0.1. Along with Kirk, Springer and Garcia that is really the only big difference I see from last year. Everyone else has pretty much done their job. But the WAR crash at the top has been pretty extreme. Hopefully it turns around for them in the second half.

I think that was on Bo.

Looked like a double steal was on and Guerrero was following Bo’s break at 2nd and then Bo held up and Guerrero was hung out to dry.
Why double steal? There were two outs and Gray wasn't sharp. Furthermore, the guys on the bases aren't the ones you would want to double steal.

I believe we’re statistically one of the better baserunning teams in baseball but negative fan reaction to mistakes coming from aggression is so much greater than positive reaction to the extra bases gained which just seems to be taken for granted.

No idea, but both guys clearly broke together before Bo put the brakes on.
