The unfortunate thing with Biggio is that he has an amazing skill (ungodly plate discipline/zone awareness) and is passable in the field, but he's made zero effort to fix the fact that he's liable let workable-but-not-great pitches in the zone go by waiting on the perfect one to drive. Then he Ks looking because the perfect pitch never arrives.

He's an extremely remote threat to have that weird out-of-nowhere late career Bautista breakout but I don't think the team can afford to be afraid that might happen if they let him go.

does he even have options? I mean he's been here for years? I dont know how that works now.

Fangraphs says he has all 3 of his option years left and I can't find anything in the explanation of options that says they expire once a player accrues a certain amount of MLB experience/playing time. So... yes I think?

They should option him and see if the hitting coaches can make him just a little bit more aggressive.
