That Mariners squad at least made it further than Trout has ever even come close to going. Obviously not his fault.
And were then able to transition away from the Junior/Johnson/A-Rod days damn near seamlessly.
Not to poopoo on a good thing but why can't Berrios do this more?
The stuff/ability is obviously still there and he's capable of stringing together good outings...Just why not as often as he did before?
I suppose if he knew he wouldn't have had that bad 2022, but still.
Considering how they had a stretch post 95 where they lost essentially their entire core in the span of three seasons; Johnson traded to the Astros in '98 because they had concerns paying him long term with his back issues, Griffey traded because he wanted to go home in '99, then A-Rod to free agency in 2000. Then proceeded to replace one of those guys with another generational star in Ichiro all the while making the playoffs in 2000 and 2001, one of which being a near record setting season for wins.Near seamlessly? Didn't they miss the playoffs something like 18 years in a row? Hasn't it been like 15 years since any of those players were in Seattle?
Jays transitioned seamlessly from the World Series team to the Bautista era I guess
Maybe I missed some sarcasm.

I'd say that's pretty damn seamless even if they didn't win championships.
