Nice win. Looked terrible for the first 5 innings offensively, Glasnow looked unhittable. But a few quirks in the 6th rattled him up and that was all that was needed.
I thought they started to look ok in the 4th and 5th with some solid contact despite not much to show for it.

Those were some fantastic at bats in the 6th, though. It's easy to look at a bunch of walks and think they were gifted some runs, but Glasnow wasn't completely wild... he was mostly around the plate and they just wouldn't bite unless it was in the zone. Such a fun inning to watch.

Ideally 1 team crushes the other in the 7 games by winning at least 5 and hopefully more. Doesn’t really matter which.
Side bonus: if Houston doesn't come back against KC tonight, the winner of the Seattle/Texas game will leapfrog them into the division lead. Houston is the only one the Jays have the tie breaker against, so them being in the Wild Card battle is ideal.

I wasn't a huge fan of the Bassitt signing, but I was definitely wrong. He's been fantastic in year one.

Fun fact: Bassitt is the only pitcher with 30 wins over the last two seasons.

Yeah I wasn’t a fan but with the Manoah fiasco Bassitt has turned out to be integral to the rotation.

I’m almost more worried about finishing as the 2nd wildcard than I am missing the playoffs at this point.
Obviously missing the playoffs would be the worse option but the cards are really stacked in our favour with how many time the AL east teams have to play each other. And the Twins are a much much easier match up in a 3 game series than the Ray will be

I’m impressed boys. I’m impressed. Huge win.
Come on really. There has to be someone you want to call fat or a POS?

No McClanahan is huge, though. Makes a big difference

At this point, it makes no sense to "pick a team". Last year we all wanted them to play the Mariners over the Rays. Look how that ended up...

Or like the Leafs last year in the playoffs, when Florida knocked out Boston, when the fans were chanting "We want Florida".

Just get your wins, and focus on playing the team you're gonna play.

Yeah, I really don't care where they end up. Just get in.
