Now I’m not so sure about pitching Kikuchi tomorrow. He’s been struggling and could use the extra day of rest. If he falters, then we are relying on Ryu who stunk against the Rays.
I think the plan is to set up Kikuchi to be ready for game 1 of the wildcard as the long man out of the pen. Ryu is probably off the roster for at least the wildcard series as he takes too long to get ready to be a guy who come in as a relief pitcher

It is but they have to make it. Furthermore, you want to avoid using Gausman in the last game. Not a big deal of Kikuchi isn’t available for game 1.

Kikuchi and Ryu are going to pitch the first 2 games does it really matter which order they go in right now?

Cause it does for the wildcard series

My prediction is the Jays blow it against the Rays, Seattle sweeps Texas BUT Houston also blows it against Arizona and the Jays finish in WC3.

The Rays are always tough on us but they are going to start resting guys as they have nothing to play for.
If we can’t win 1 game against the Rays we don’t deserve to be in the playoffs. And 1 win likely is enough to put us in

That’s not interesting enough.

My prediction is Houston can beat the Jays for WC3 in the final game of the season against Arizona and Gurriel hits a 2 out walk off grand slam in the bottom of the 10th down 3 runs.

Houston loses and Gurriel gets invited to Toronto for the celebrations.

A Jays win and loss by Houston or Seattle and they’re in. Magic number is 2 this weekend. Hopefully no drama and we get the win tonight and one of those teams lose. I don’t want another last day of the year heart break

I’m guessing the WC series will be Kikuchi/Gausman, Gausman/Kikuchi, Bassit. People have mentioned Ryu… I have a hard time believing you can trust Ryu in a possible do or die game
