Atkins not doing anything significant about the offense all season long is either extremely stubborn or extremely clueless (maybe both).

How anyone could look at this team’s offense and say “everything’s fine” is beyond me.

What an absolute waste of dominant pitching. Atkins can seriously GTFO.

Belt wouldn't have made it to 2nd either, and he's not fat.
It's just baffling to me that a professional athlete could watch himself on tv in that shape and not want to improve himself. He's going to cost himself so much money in his career from being so badly out of shape.

The best players in any sport go into the off season thinking "okay how can I get better/what can I improve". Does Kirk not have any internal motivation? If so should he be a Toronto Blue Jay long term? Getting into better shape when you're surrounded by all the best trainers and facilities shouldnt be a tough ask.

Wasn't a lot of bats available during the year.

Last winter they shouldv'e added a bat to replace teoscar but I don't think anybody expected the majority of the lineup to have down years.

They definitely need to add a couple bats this winter capable of 20+hr

Some people were concerned about the offense and its lack of power before the season started. This isn’t coming as a huge shock that they’re struggling to hit with power.

And not adding a bat OR changing hitting coaches all year long is mind boggling.

I take back my “gamer” comments about Chapman. He’s a complete f***ing pos. Waste of a roster spot. Pure dog shit

Let’s just watch Chapman strike out instead of using Clement or Horowitz.

Schneider is almost worse than Montoyo.

Atkins not doing anything significant about the offense all season long is either the most stubborn or most clueless (maybe both) thing.

What "significant" move was available to him? Acquiring Tommy Pham LOL?

The front office needs to be held accountable as to why seemingly everyone on offense is underperforming, some significantly. These posts about "not doing anything significant" are pointless because you can't force other teams to want to trade players. Almost no one sold at the deadline.

So happy to move on from Chapman
He's a strikeout prone slugger who doesn't slug.

I thought he would be good for 30+ moving from Oakland to Toronto but the hip issues must've zapped his power

I dunno, maybe change the hitting coach for a start?

Schneider is clueless. Not pinch hitting for Chapman but pinch hitting for Kiermaier instead (who is actually hitting lefties well).

Chapman being 4-5 against that pitcher doesn’t matter when he’s been ice cold for the last 8 weeks plus coming off an injury.

This was the easiest solution. No idea why the change wasn't made.

Firing the hitting coach is something that has occurred a lot during the season. The reality is that it sometimes magically makes everyone start hitting better, and other times it makes literally zero difference. What this tells you is that it's a complete crapshoot. Do we think the hitting coach has been telling Guerrero to whiff on middle-middle pitches and chase a foot off the plate? Now that he's homered in three straight games, do you think they they're utilizing some new "coaching" with him?

Chapman you chump. He’s sooo lost at the plate. Did he promise his soul to the devil for that first month? He’s soulless.
I don't even mind the strikeouts if it came with some home runs. Even when those big hacks connect they don't lead to homeruns. He's a frustrating player to watch.

Just wondering if you thought bringing in some hitting coach help may done a little bit? Not saying it would’ve made a huge difference but you gotta wonder if a new voice would’ve somewhat helped.

Why wouldn’t you at least try then? I mean the offense hasn’t worked all season long, why keep trying the same thing? That’s the definition of insanity.

That is not a significant move. That is shuffling deck chairs.
I disagree that it’s not a significant move, but regardless of that it’s better than the alternative of doing absolutely nothing.

I mean I wouldn't have cared if they fired the hitting coach, I have no attachment to them. I just think it is a rather meaningless move in the grand scheme of things.
