Tim Johnston ouch

Yup.

That was a great year, though.

Breakout year for Delgado/Green into elite players. Shannon Stewart and Jose Cruz became quality regulars. Jose Canseco! Roger Clemens! Chris Carpenter joining the rotation. Roy Halladay called up for his debut and nearly gets a no-hitter.

It really seemed like they'd turned things over and had a great young core that could go back to the playoffs in the next few years. Only 4 games out that year. Then Clemens forced a trade and it just never happened.

Davis Schneider. Wow.

What’s your point? Doesn’t change my statement. Another fine example from Biggio

I mean, this team is 15 games over .500. This is 'disappointing' and 'hard to watch' compared to incredibly lofty expectations but overall most fanbases would kill to be watching this team and there have been maybe 5 or 6 more entertaining Jays teams in the last 30 years.

KC is 44-97. That's a f***ing unenjoyable team to watch.

Davis Schneider is the greatest hitter (I can't even just qualify that as MLB considering Fangraphs has integrated early independent and Negro League stats) who's ever lived. Prove me wrong. :sarcasm:

Halladay I can remember for sure. Think it was last or 2nd last game of season, no?
Dustin McCowen just came to my mind…. What could have been. So much talent.

Gunnar Henderson has ROY locked up but there have been years where he might have been able to beat 1959 Willie McCovey winning it from 52 GP.

I remember McGowan coming within like 1 or 2 outs of no-hitting a team (Colorado?) and thinking that it was the start of a great career.

Turns out it was the peak.

Literally the only way this team can manufacture runs is by the long ball.

Yeah, McGowan was a big talent, just never could stay healthy.

Right at the end of the year for Halladay, yup. As documented in the incredible Dave Stieb documentary on Youtube.

The Royals relievers are terrible. The Rangers are imploding, this team really needs to sweep this series.

Wait you’re telling me there are teams that are worse than the jays this year? No way. Would you prefer if I said I find this team hard to watch? Frustrating! Disappointing! Watching garbage pitchers make the jays “offence” look like they play for the terrible team.

Pathetic. Marsh came in with a 6.23 ERA. They can't even get a sniff off him except the one 2 out double by Schneider.
