There are about $16 million in increases to guys who are already under contract (mostly to Bo with a bit to Bassitt, Gausman, Garcia, and Berrios). Green likely gets an increase too, but it'll depend which option gets picked up.

Then almost everyone who isn't a free agent is arb eligible (Vlad, Romano, Jansen, Kirk, Swanson, Varsho, Mayza, Espinal, Cabrera, Richards, Biggio)... it's gonna be a lot.

Unpopular opinion but I'd be interested in bringing back Ryu, Chapman, KK and Hicks
 
Why wouldn’t anyone remind the pitcher not to step off again?

Why? the 3B free agent market is gonna suck, he's gonna get paid big time because of his history while his offense is declining (he looks OK this year but that's mostly one insane month propping up some underwhelming results teh rest of the way) and his defence is fading a bit too.

Hicks and Kiermaier I get because they've been good. I can even see my way to accepting Ryu as a cheap 1-year "prove it" deal to show he can fully rebound from TJ. But Chapman seems as good as gone for me and I'm totally OK with that because I can't see how he ends up justifying the insane price he's likely to command.

Yeah I have no interest in paying what it would cost to keep Chapman when the majority of his value comes from his defensive play and his defensive value is clearly slipping.

Agreed.

Good teams pay players for what they’re going to do and bad teams pay players for what they’ve done.

Chapman is going to get overpaid until he’s 38 or 39 for what he’s done and it’s much smarter to make another ‘Chapman trade’ for a younger cheaper guy like Ryan McMahon than to blow huge $$$ on Chapman.

Ryu and Kiermaier both will probably outplay what they’ll get in FA and should he brought back if possible.
