So folks time to prepare the mind…..

I’ll be giddy if Fantilli or Carlson fall, I’ll do a happy dance and you can Rock me with a slap me if we get Will Smith, I’ll be okay & alright with Michkov but then it’s damn “whatever“ if we trade for Philly #’s 7 & 22.

Okay this is not likely…..but I’ll move back to okay (with little happy dance) if Arizona trades #’s 6 & 12 OR we trade our pick for Arizona’s Cooley from last year.
Anything else and I’ll consider it another Kostitsyn debacle & rage for 20 years. Just getting ready folks, cheers.

I predicted that scenario, but the more I think about, the less I see Grier gambling. Ex-goon, new GM, f***ing elated to have made it, started from the bottom now we here... he's going to pick the safe player (Carlsson).
Grier wasn't a goon. LOL! He was a very high scoring Boston University kid who could put 15-20 goal seasons in the NHL, and was a good two-way player. He maybe averaged 1-2 fights per season and didn't rack up many PIMs. Are you confusing him with Oilers teammate BGL?

I wouldn't be surprised if Grier makes a surprise pick (e.g. Ryan Leonard). His early GM tenure has been somewhat unconventional and I don't think he cares what anyone thinks.

Don't bother. I've been asking this for months now and no one can answer it proper.

BECAUSE...REASONS.
What are you on about the answer is obvious.

The drop off from Michkov, who is the second best overall player in this draft and the likes of Fantilli and Carlsson isn't massive so teams are willing to get the slightly inferior player in exchange for less risks. When you get to 5th overall though the drop off from a Michkov to a Leonard is steep so it is much worse for the Habs to not pick him vs the earlier teams. There are people who really believe in Smith and club him with the other two but I don't personally see it. Regardless, enough scouts seem to think he's in that tier. Leonard? Reinbacher? The consensus is they are in a steep drop off tier below Michkov.

Their pick this year will affect my evaluation of Slafkofsky. Most of my current evaluation is my own impression but part of it included giving the club the benefit of the doubt. If they mess up bad, there’s no goodwill left for any of their picks.
Kinda a strange line of reasoning. I'm not really sure how a 2023 draft pick would cause you to adjust your read on Slafkovsky, or how a 2023 draft pick is a stronger indicator of how he'll develop than eg. Dach.

I wish Twitter wasn't used by the hockey community so much its such a lame platform everybody thinks their s**** doesn't stink just a bunch of dudes addicted to their phones tweeting anything they want and non stop speculating for clicks.

As a fan, I have less information than the club. If I find out there’s no driver steering the car, the extra info becomes meaningless.
